Joey Beltram - Drumcode / R&S / BUSH / Warp Short Biography: For over the last 20+ years, Joey Beltram is considered one of the pioneers and a legendary producer of Techno and House. He has recorded on many of the biggest labels of the early 90's such as Nu-Groove, Tresor, Warp, Transmat, and R&S records. Much of his music during that time is widely acknowledged as groundbreaking. Beltram has also been heralded as a major influence by many of todays DJ's and producers including Daft Punk (as mentioned in their song "Teachers"). He has also produced many Techno staples of the 1990's including "Energy Flash", "Mentasm", "Forklift", "Ballpark" and "Game Form". In more recent years Joey Beltram has worked with and remixed artist's and DJ's such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Umek, Oliver Huntemann and Steve Lawler. His productions on Harthouse, BUSH, MB Electronic and Drumcode have shown he still has the magic touch in the studio. A pillar of the new American wave of queer underground clubbing, Aaron is co-founder of the infamous Hot Mass club in Pittsburgh. A loud, sleazy after-hours built inside of a gay sauna where anything goes until 7am every weekend. At Hot Mass, he programs both the queer Honcho party as well as the 20-years long techno party, Humanaut. More recently, Honcho has become known for their annual Honcho Campout festival - a tight-knit queer blitz of the Pennsylvania forest that has become a pinnacle event of underground American dance music. What began as the Latin-industrial-hardcore fury of FALSE WITNESS has metamorphosed into something far more seductive: JUNIOR M. The M stands for Machine or Makina in Spanish, a nod to the rewiring of their production practice. Additionally, "Junior Makina" was one of their earliest monikers for studio creations that landed on the more playful side of club and house music in 2012. Their sound is queer, a touch sleazy, and aimed squarely for sweat-soaked dancefloors. Inspired by their years living in Berlin and DJing regularly at clubs like Lab.oratory, Renate and RSO, they’ve crafted a unique sound that blends Italo disco’s yearning synth lines with Dembow’s propulsion. Their sets, which move fluidly across genres, are engineered to feel cosmic and flirtatious. JUNIOR M officially landed in late 2023 with City Flowers (EMS021), their debut EP and first release under the new name. The arrival also coincided with the False Witness farewell tour, a victory lap across Asia that hit Singapore, Australia, Japan, China, and South Korea.
