gum.mp3 is a multimedia artist from rural North Carolina, currently residing in Baltimore. He was a Leslie King-Hammond Graduate Fellow during the 2024-2025 academic year at Maryland Institute College of Art, and was awarded the Fred Lazarus Award for Social Change. As Bandcamp said so well, “[he’s] a self-described noise machine, digital pirate, and technomancer—embodies the spirit of Akomfrah’s Data Thief in both his music and his persona, acting as a connector for different elements of Black dance music history.” Resident Advisor named his album Black Life, Red Planet as one of the Best of 2024. Through his Gum Studio imprint, he’s released music by FiFi Zhang, Dazegxd, and Raegun. The collaborative album State of Emergency with Swami Sound was released via Gum Studio this year.Their RA profile lists Ghostly International and Gum Studio.Recently at 99 Scott Ave, Mi Sabor Cafe, H0L0 · often with Swami Sound, ARCHANGEL, Dazegxd, none of them here that night

In a culture of new artists competing for digital real estate Greene anchored his career in the physical: He toured. Playing top European venues such as Fabric Live, Plastic People, Panoramabar and major festivals like Sonar, MUTEK, the Bloc Weekender and Bozar Electronic Weekender, he steadily conquered each crowd with his undeniably potent songs and infectious demeanor. With “Another Girl”, all the hype came to him. Tearing down the gate with two EPs on LuckyMe and Nightslugs, and nothing short of an anthem on the latter’s Allstar compilation, he grew as the best artists do. With quality releases and unforgettable live shows. As the initial disbelief at how young he was, his love of heart aching RnB, his mys- terious appearance, and what he uses to record begins to sink further and further back into the pages of Google, the initial hype will be followed by better and better music. New original music, limited run white labels, a jaw-dropping analog live show, and the launch of his own imprint Vase have further established his vision leading towards his debut full length.Their RA profile lists Night Slugs, LuckyMe, Vase, UNO and 1 more.Recently at Kings Hall - Avant Gardner, Paragon, Knockdown Center · often with Nosaj Thing, Jubilee, Bunni, none of them here that night
