Akanbi is heading a new generation of dedicated ravers in New York City. Raised in Lagos, Nigeria, with limited access to the internet but a huge thirst for new music, Akanbi moved to NYC in 2010 and immersed himself head on into every corner of dance music, as a serious dancer and, eventually, a DJ and rave activator. He’s cultivated his unique style of DJing that delivers an intentional blend of freak-out boogie music, sensual rollers, whip-crack bangers, insistent percussion, afrobeat goodness, deep thumping low frequencies & slow-burning experimental descents. In 2014, he started New York City's GROOVY GROOVY party - a judgment-free atmosphere for wild dance floors, spiritual, mental & physical rejuvenation, radical politics, and a dose of undeniably rocking talent. Akanbi has made an impression with visionary sets across the globe at select spaces like Guggenheim Museum, Sustain Release, Nowadays, Dekmantel, Horst, OIL Club Shanghai, WWW Tokyo, Berghain/Panorama Bar, Corsica Studios, Primavera Sound Barcelona et al.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, Paragon · often with /KATA/, The Large, Ayanna Heaven, none of them here that night

"It's D's World, we're just living in it" - Guy reading my iPhone notes on the M Train Longtime dancefloor staple Dan Creahan has been a quiet but vital energy in New York's thriving late-night scene, promoting and running door as energetically as he throws down on the floor. As a producer, he's often sought to explore the range around the center of the floor, working behind a number of pen names that have settled in recent years around around Alien D, a coy reworking of his first name, and the most direct outlet for his productions. Having previously released tapes with Mind Dynamics, a driving, frenetic project that pushed noise sensibilities and an improv-first focus on dance music stylings, Creahan worked through a range of concepts and monikers before releasing his first record as Alien D in 2018. Building sonic worlds around shared concepts and studio workflows, he rarely sits in one place for too long, exploring ever-shifting sonic palettes that have branched out from his initial formula of loose break tracks, tinged with elements of house and dub and into a range of sources, from spaced-out B12 tributes to tracks nodding towards the heyday of West Coast rave and downtempo. Bringing the same energy he's honed as a label head and promoter to his studio practice, the horizon looks bright for this Alien, gleaming out into the depths of space, where new worlds await <3House on 9, Techno on 9, Downtempo on 6 and Experimental on 4. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Kulture Galerie (2), Honey Trap (1) and Theory Therapy (1); their RA profile also lists Sweat Equity NYC and Twin System. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Million Goods, Eavesdrop, Good Room · often with Yibing, NIGELTHREETIMES, Kat Offline, none of them here that night

Ma Sha is a New York-based producer and DJ who has been active in the scene since 2017 when she co-founded event series - now a NYC staple - Kindergarten. Since then, she established a radio show which alongside the local Kindergarten crew, holds a monthly residency on The Lot Radio, as well as a record label that has won “Best Breakthrough Label” at the 2022 DJ Mag North America Awards. Focusing on cosmic club workouts with wigged-out rhythmic structures, the label “has become an essential outpost for hard-to-define, easy-to-dance-to club music in just two short years” [DJ Mag]; presenting “twisty, rowdy and unpredictable club music rooted in techno from both sides of the Atlantic” [Resident Advisor]. Apart from running Kindergarten Records, Ma Sha is currently focusing on her solo productions to present her take on experimental high-voltage dance music with a debut release coming out soon. However, Ma Sha is not a novice within the realm of production; as she has been active as half of the band Sha Ru who have been on the radar since their debut EP on Sorry Records in 2019, followed by releases on Infinite Machine, Pressure Dome, Progressive Future, Shubzin, Inveterate and of course, Kindergarten Records. Besides running the label, producing and performing domestically and internationally, Ma Sha is also a co-founder of Hone.Social, a free DJing workshop initiative providing a place to learn and practice within a casual and supportive environment.Their RA profile lists Rhythm Section International, Nervous Horizon, Steel City Dance Discs and Kindergarten Records.Recently at The Chocolate Factory, Nowadays, H0L0 · often with Sobolik, Verraco, Ayesha, none of them here that night

Heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan, their productions encapsulated sounds that were inspired by the UK and Detroit, and were complimented with live spoken word. After moving to Berlin in 2016, they transitioned from performance art to DJing, where their sets on HÖR facilitated their breakthrough as a DJ. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other world sounds at 140-160 BPM. x3butterfly has played in various clubs in Mexico, Germany, Denmark, Greece, as well as a multitude of cities in the US. They have quickly become a rising NYC star, DJing notorious NYC venues such as Bossa Nova, Mood Ring, and Nowadays. Lauren Flax has been a lifelong musician, starting to play the drums at 8 years old before continuing on to guitar and bass in high school. She began her DJ career in the underground dance and rave scenes of Detroit as a resident at the Motor Lounge, playing every Tuesday night along with resident DJs Mike Servito, DJ Dilemma, Jason Kendig, and Derek Plaslaiko. Flax played the very first Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 on the Motor stage. While originally starting off as a jungle DJ, Flax evolved her style into a variety techno, house, and electro music. Flax moved to Chicago in 1999, where she honed in on music production while continuing to DJ. By 2002, she relocated again to Manhattan, which shortly followed the release of her first remix, "Much Finer" for Le Tigre. In 2018, Flax was introduced to DJ Haus by fellow Detroit musician and friend Jimmy Edgar, to which he quickly signed a record, resulting in "Dance Trax Vol. 16" (2018). In 2019, Flax joined the mostly Detroit-born New York collective The Bunker New York,[1] on which she released "One Man’s House is Another Woman’s Techno EP" (2019). The EP was highly successful and sold out quickly. Flax met with Brooklyn-based record label 2MR in 2019, curious to explore beyond the realm of dance music. She remixed 'Breathe' by label-mate Pale Blue, and that ended up inspiring Flax's new style of music. After the remix was released, Flax took to writing a 6 track EP, merging genres of ambient, acid house, and much more, set to come out in Summer 2021. Flax started touring the United States and Europe as a solo artist in 2019, performing live analog sets, pushing the boundaries of what a DJ is defined as.House on 39, Techno on 22, Acid House on 13 and Electro on 17. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on WRKTRX (3), Aliens On Wax (1) and House Of Efunk Records (1); their RA profile also lists Defected Records, !K7, Toolroom Records, Nervous Records and 6 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Good Room, Libera, Earthly Delights · often with Sevyn 0000, Austin Kunis, Costume Design, none of them here that night

Best known for his Level parties, Andrew Devlin has been booking some of the city's best house, techno, and hip-hop DJs for almost 10 years. His DJ sets reflect the party's vibe--equally focused on the party people and the record heads, serving up cutting-edge music with no pretense. A typical Devlin DJ set can span NY deep house, psychedelic minimal, UK bass music, and an odd Drake track. Many DJs claim to have range, but few blend Call Super and Barry White at peak time.Recently at Million Goods, Mansions, Good Room · often with NIGELTHREETIMES, Yibing, Kfeelz, none of them here that night
