    the whole biography
Juana has enticed crowds all over the world at venues such as Berghain, LuxFrágil, Fabric, Smartbar, Basement, Nowadays, and countless festivals and underground warehouse gigs. She originally hails from the city of Chicago where she cultivated her love for the underground at clubs like Smartbar and The Generator and parties such as Soul in the Hole and Boom Boom Room. She began DJing in roughly 2001 and moved to DC in 2003 where she began hosting weekly live internet radio shows on HandzOnRadio (Baltimore) and Cyberjamz (Tampa) and playing parties in the DC scene, upping her skills alongside her mentor and legendary DJ Sam “the Man” Burns, and at clubs including Red and the DC Sanctuary. Juana started obsessively collecting disco and early house records in the late 90s and eventually developed an undying penchant for straight-ahead techno and deeper, darker shades of first and second-wave Chicago dance music. In the 2010s, Juana made her mark in DC as one of only a handful of techno DJs and a resident of the legendary rave, Sequence, and started regularly touring North and South America and EU. In the 2020s, Juana picked up major momentum, becoming a resident of the renowned rave Unter and making frequent appearances at Basement, Nowadays, and Paragon. She has been a founding member of the DC QT BIPOC collective NOXEEMA JACKSON since 2021, and in 2026, joined the MERGE collective. As a producer, her most recent EP “We Are Everything We Think We're Not” was released in March 2024, and she has also appeared recently on releases from the No Mercy, World Building, and Perimeter Junk labels. She is currently working on more releases, probably until she croaks.
Their RA profile lists Bound, Vanity Press Records, ROAMANCE, Trax Only and 1 more.

Residencies: Underground & Black , Realms of Techno Party series: Realms of Techno Record Label: Realms of Techno Ann-Marie Teasley, known as The AM, and most recently AMX comes from the Detroit - Berlin school of techno. By connecting the dots between the past, present, and future of the Detroit sound, she has translated the futuristic musical ideas of back then into the present. Before becoming one of Detroit's most exciting new producers, the orchestra kid played in the first violin section of Metro Detroit’s Oakland Youth Orchestra. She made her entrance as a DJ playing underground parties in Detroit and NYC before dropping her debut EP “Black Majik” on Berlin’s Tresor label in 2022. The Detroit native also released a second EP “Sexworker” on the Dutch imprint Deeptrax Records, which Groove Mag DE described as “an abstraction of classic futuristic Detroit sound.” While being on iconic line ups like Movement Electronic Music Festival, Berghain’s Birthday Anniversary, Freedom Festival Columbia, and Bar Do Deca Brazil, she began to release electro tracks with catchy vocals under the monicker AMX, starting out with “Ride.” On NYC’s Haus of Altr label. Followed by “Werk It.” on International Chrome. She returned to the Tresor label in 2024 as AMX for their collaboration with Carhartt WIP. In 2025 AMX was featured on EU labels Paraíso and Activity Vision. You can check out their signature techno / electro sound via their monthly residency at Spkrbox Detroit, where she invites a new artist to join her for each event. In March 2025, AMX merged her monthly residency into her own record label under the same moniker ‘Realms of Techno’ with a 4 track EP which was released on March 7, 2025.
Their RA profile lists Tresor and Kajunga.
