their own biography
the whole biography
jaql is a stalwart member of the bubbling jungle scene in NYC. Through a common thread of break beats, texture seeking and wobbly basslines she is keen on world building via her sets. She runs a party series titled ‘Jaywalking’ which grew out of a deep yearning to hear more jungle on local dance floors. Beyond platforming local and name brand jungle DJs, Jaywalking also looks to foster the sound in new ways, inviting people who don't normally play jungle to interpret the sound. She is a member of 123, a collective and DIY venue based in Brooklyn hosting a wide range of events from weeknight socials to full blown raves featuring 123’s well-loved basement soundsystem. She has supported Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Sully, Dev/Null, CCL, Objekt and many more spangled line ups in recent years.Recently at Paragon, H0L0, Honey's · often with Don-Ri, Just Jeff, DMVU 140 SET, none of them here that night
