BYLD (James Preston) is a DJ, session musician, and dedicated dancer based in Brooklyn NY. Growing up in Boston in the 90s James was heavily influenced by a golden era of R&B, Hip Hop and rave sounds, and later on by the pulse and freedom of the unparalleled underground Queer NYC dance scene. As BYLD, he pulls those threads together with ease, bringing rhythm, soul, and movement into everything he plays. BYLD plays out regularly in NYC and is also 1/2 of the DJ/production duo Underpass alongside John Barera with original releases out on Sorry Records and Toucan Sounds.Their RA profile lists Sorry Records.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Earthly Delights, Happyfun Hideaway · often with John Barera, Kettle, Conduit, none of them here that night
