South African-born and classically trained, Miss Hazard carved her path in electronic music. After years of travelling and living all over the world, she began her DJ career in Calgary, AB in 2011. Miss Hazard has created a hypnotic sonic language channeling musical inspirations and personal experiences from around the globe. Miss Hazard frequents the decks of Calgary’s BassBus, the HiFi Club, and her home base Habitat Living Sound, where she holds her residency HAUS. She has championed the local DJ circuit and strives to motivate future generations of young female identifying DJs. Notably, spearheading The Ten Percent Portrait Project, incorporating her two passions of music and photography to highlight the female and non-binary DJ’s of Calgary, AB. Her energy is electric and translates through the thick of a festival dance floor and the intimacy of a packed club. CatLadyHi, also known as Nora, got her name from her brother’s high school rap group called Killacamm & the D-Town Misfits, where they gave her the name CatLadyHi, which she’s kept as her Instagram handle since 2015. Since moving to New York in August 2022, she discovered her passion for electronic music. As years have gone by, she’s defined her sound to a spectrum of groovy minimal tech house to deep tech. She finds herself playing house music at raves and clubs in New York and Texas. Some of the places she’s played are Elsewhere, LPR (Le Poisson Rouge), Somewhere Nowhere, Superior Ingredients and Sunset Park Rooftop.
