their own biography
the whole biography
Perc is one of electronic dance music’s reference points: an internationally touring DJ, label owner and one of the most respected producers in techno today. Known as one of the most forward-thinking individuals in techno Perc (aka London based Ali Wells) fuses current sounds with his extensive knowledge of electronic music’s past to create something new & unique. A regular artist on such scene-leading labels as CLR, Kompakt, Drumcode, Stroboscopic Artefacts and Ovum as well as his own world-reknown Perc Trax imprint, Perc is as uncompromising as he is unique. As a DJ, Perc has taken to the decks across the world in seminal clubs such like Berghain, Fabric, Cocoliche in Buenos Aires, Space Ibiza, Tresor, Unit in Tokyo and many more. His sound is a fusion of the cream of current techno mixed with choice selections from electronic music’s forefathers. Production-wise the last few years can be described in two words 'Wicker & Steel' - the title of Perc's debut album, released on Perc Trax in June of 2011 and which has lifted him to a new level of respect and recognition. In the last year Perc has diversified with remixes for Factory Floor on DFA, Black Asteroid on Electric Deluxe, Mike Parker on Edit Select and Oscar Mulero on Warm-Up, plus two EPs; the searing statement of intent that is ‘A New Brutality’ on Perc Trax and Guardian single of the week ‘Pure & Simple’ on Sleaze. This coupled with his busiest ever year of gigs including debut appearances in Argentina, Australia, Singapore and Finland has meant his sound is better known and more influential than ever before. “Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Kiernan Laveaux is a connective rhythmic energy conduit & ecstatic beat conductor from the Great Lakes. A boundless ball of discordant energy, she’s an adventurous spirit - conducting the vibrant forces of our world that are transmitted through the unbridled passion contained within her DJing. As a “one-of-a-kind American DJ”, she’s best known for her arcane technical skill, propulsive dancefloor catharsis, & hyper-creative approach behind the decks. Originating from within Cleveland's multiversal electronic underground, she materialized through the rhythms of life & her loved ones - inspired by forces of universal chaos, the experimentalism and joy found within midwestern electronic music, & the infamous In Training, Heaven is in You, Disco Paradiso parties manifested by herself & loved ones in Cleveland, she's since embarked on a lifelong journey of channeling binary dissolving phenomena throughout our known universe via her unbridled musical vitality & the multifaceted Sweet Abyss imprint. The music she plays is all-embracing & expansive, but unified by a restless sense of ecstatic momentum, dissonant euphoria, & kinetic exuberance - all woven together by entrancing pulsations of uninhibited groove & rhythmatic sensation. Over the past decade, her ethos of community building, passionate autonomy, and transportative psychedelia has grown to encompass the creators of possible worlds everywhere - releasing a vast array of mixes and live recordings available for your listening pleasure, as well playing iconic & transformative sets at worldwide rave destinations including Freerotation, Draaimolen, WHOLE United Queer Festival, an anarchist bookstore in Ohio, Honcho Campout, Return to the Source, a train car in Wisconsin, a woodworking studio in Oregon, a gas station turned into a restaurant in Texas, Club Toilet, Sustain-Release, a USPS shipping container in Virginia, a dub soundsystem club in Poland, and wherever else fun you’d love to have her play next.Techno on 3, Ambient on 2, Experimental on 2 and House on 2. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Dekmantel (1) and Real Blue Love Rips (1). labels on their catalogued releasesRecently at Signal, public records, The Living Gallery · often with Pamela_ and her sons, 30000AD, Nick Boyd, none of them here that night

Born and raised in Queens, a city dweller and a club kid, Kilopatrah has an innate and superlative gift for transferring energy from the booth to the dance floor—through exciting house, techno, and jungle, and moments that both harken to Sound Factory–era glory days and bring you to sweaty BPMs of the future. Their sets are palpably personal: The dance floor has always been a powerful platform for expression for Kilo, once as a freeing and connecting space for a quiet house dancer and now as one for moving others like them. When Kilo gets going, you’ll lose sense of the kick drum versus the beat of your own body against the floor. That’s a gift from them to you, and your percussion is a gift back to them. Kilo brings their energetic sass to a monthly Lot Radio residency and to parties with impressive lineups, playing alongside Todd Terry home in New York, at the legendary Movement weekend Club Toilet in Detroit, and for Boiler Room. Their mixes, for series such as Coloring Lessons, Honcho, and Juanita’s, and for spots on Rinse and Refuge, also capture the club at its most euphoric. You’ll step a little harder with Kilopatrah Jones. Words by Sacha MadadianRecently at Animal, BASEMENT, Knockdown Center · often with Mike Servito, Dee Diggs, Annie Lew, none of them here that night
