From deep to disco, tech to soul, they join the dots between the past and the present with their own sense of storytelling and do so in clubs around the world, as well as in their studio. House might be the root of the Dam Swindle sound, but it takes nourishment from a much wider world of music. Still now, their breakthrough tunes such as ‘The Wrap Around’ and ‘The Break Up’ receive countless plays on dancefloors all over the world and the duo has made timeless music such as their 2023 disco-house bomb ‘ That’s right’ and 90’s throwback banger ‘Allright – just a tribute’ that became one of the hits of the 2024 festival summer. Dam Swindle has built a trademark sound, while still evolving and maturing their craft in various musical niches. Their landmark 2018 album High Life shows a broad musicality from the duo and this is even more so on their highly anticipated 2025 long player ‘Open’. ‘Open’ features countless collaborations with high-profile artists such as Dutch pianist Joep Beving and New York-based Ethiopian vocalist Haile Supreme, and sees the duo flex their sound from ambient electronica to synthwave, hiphouse and more. Since 2013, the pair has also established their record label Heist Recordings as one of the key independent labels for underground dance music, while also releasing music on other underground mainstays such as Aus Music and Classic Music Company. Heist is more than just a label, though - it is a breeding ground for talents old and new; somewhere talent is nurtured and allowed to develop. Label showcases and special projects such as the yearly Roundup EP; where all artists from the past 12 months remix each other after a random selection process, furthers the family vibe and helps Heist stand out from crowd. Artists such as Cinthie, DJ Sneak, Crackazat, Tesfa Williams, Makèz, Pépé Bradock, Matthew Herbert, Ge-Ology, Byron the Aquarius and many more have all contributed, proving that it is a place for unrestrained creatives to be free with their own sonic visions. The label looks as good as it sounds, too, thanks to visual artist Bas Koopmans's standout artwork designs. Proof of Dam Swindle's widescreen approach to production is their long and talented list of collaborators, which includes the likes of acclaimed musician Tom Misch, US talent Seven Davis Jr., instrumental collective Jungle by Night, plus Marc de Clive-Lowe, Jitwam and Lorenz Rhode. Next to their own originals, a broad spectrum of artists have asked Dam Swindle for some of their special remix magic: on labels like Strut and Soundway they have reworked the legendary Pat Thomas, aka the ‘Golden voice of Africa,' and gave his single ‘Yamona’ a contemporary electronic edge, as well as The Mauskovic Dance Band’s track ‘Space Drum Machine’ and plenty more artists like Kerri Chandler, Mayer Hawthorne and Tom Misch. As their talent for bridging genres from all over the world continues to attract global attention, high-profile projects keep rolling in from all points on the musical globe. Dam Swindle are famously avid collectors of both old and new records, and it shows in their DJ sets, which keep you on your toes as they move freely through the broad world of house music with skillfully blended moods of soulful techno, acid, breaks, disco and more, all to create those special moments that crowds never forget. It is for that reason that their name has become a real stamp of authority and invention in the dance music world. Whatever they do, then, this pair do with irresistible charm.Their RA profile lists Aus Music, Freerange Records, Dirt Crew Recordings, Morris / Audio and 6 more.Recently at 99 Scott Ave · often with Atilla Ural, Corazón De Melon, Van Der Laan, none of them here that night
“James Juke came to house music far from home.”
their own biography
the whole biography
James Juke came to house music far from home. A year abroad in Buenos Aires at 19 introduced him to clubs for the first time, and in the span of a month, sets from Folamour, Honey Dijon, and Dusky made him understand that this music had infinite flavors and forms, and that understanding them was going to take time. Now based in Brooklyn, Juke has been shaped by the legacy of The Loft, deep house purists and the underground techno scene, all of it filtering into a singular sound. Rooted in disco, soul, and the sampling lineage that connects early house to hip-hop, his sets move through jackin', vocal-driven house and raw, hypnotic tech house. Drawn to DJs like Eris Drew, Octa Octa, and Cinthie as much as the classic house canon, Juke thinks as much like a curator as a DJ. Whether digging for sets or samples, his growing collection of music leans towards tracks you can't easily find on streaming platforms and records that haven't been digitized. Production came later, and in the least glamorous way possible. During the pandemic, Juke downloaded Logic and spent a year teaching himself entirely by ear. No tutorials, no guidance, just samples. Eventually that work found its way to Demuir, who gave him monthly feedback sessions that sharpened what he was building. Releases followed on Nervous, Robsoul, and Rek'd, alongside more experimental work, including A Little Lost, a collab-driven EP that deliberately stepped outside the club context to explore what the music could be. His sets carry the same curiosity. Whether playing a 150-cap room or a main stage, Juke's approach is shaped by a genuine respect for the history he's drawing from: Paradise Garage, Music Box, and The Sound Factory. He's shared lineups with Mike Dunn, Harry Romero, Inland Knights, and Dam Swindle; his music has earned the attention of Disclosure, who have supported his development and given direct feedback on his work. A-Trak released his music and has been a collaborator and subject of his long-running interview podcast, The Juiceboxx. And for his party, The Jukeboxx, he’s hosted NY’s best: Dee Diggs, Kim Anh, Devoye, Cosmo, Lovie, and MomaReady. None of it was planned. It still isn't. And that's the point.House on 20, Nu-Disco on 4, Disco on 2 and Contemporary R&B on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Madame Gold (2), The Disco Express (1) and snackwax (1); their RA profile also lists Nervous Records, Rek'd, 17 Steps and Toucan Sounds. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Million Goods, Jupiter Disco, Bossa Nova Civic Club · often with Bakke, Very J, Shek, none of them here that night

With a scene as vast as Brooklyn, there are few artists and selectors that have shown as much promise as EREZ.JPG. His selection of underground cuts and eclectic sounds is a clear reflection of his devotion to the local scene and attention to international trends. He is known for hammering anything from minimal to disco, from 90's house to breaks - anything that will elevate the energy and get everyone moving and grooving. Erez's energy on the decks and on the dancefloor is absolutely magnetic--it's no wonder his recently launched party series and community, Say Yes, has already received much support from the local dance music community. Within a year of DJing in Brooklyn, Erez went from DJing fraternity parties to consistent bookings, including landing a residency at TBA Brooklyn and Ciao Ciao Disco and appearances at Elsewhere, The Brooklyn Monarch, Noir, Mood Ring, and more.Recently at Elsewhere, Ninetysix, Apollo Studio · often with Armii1n, Bella Mutino, Mai iachetti, none of them here that night
