Guided by her devotion to sound system culture and bass forward arrangements, Mui Mui weaves tracks across the dub continuum with dynamic selections that forefront percussion, groove, and bass. Drawing from her extensive experience playing both pummeling late-night club sets and more cerebral radio hours, Mui Mui’s precise mixing and fearless approach to genre serves to make dance floors feel at once mischievous and cohesive, sacred and sultry. Her training as a classical ballet dancer fuels her love of full body sounds- embracing, welcoming, and guiding the body and mind through her inner narratives. A cornerstone of the NYC underground, she has also held residencies at Noods Radio and Hong Kong Community Radio, and has played to dance floors internationally, including in Tokyo, Montreal, Berlin, and in cities across the US and UK. Drawing from a wide range of influences across space, time, and medium, her sets unfold as collages that embrace and sublate the contradiction of It All. A resident DJ at Brooklyn’s DIY warehouse party Tossd and one half of Bossa Nova Civic Club’s DAYTONA 500 alongside Eva Loveless, she is firmly rooted in New York—but remains in active dialogue with the American underground, moving fluidly between scenes across the country.Their RA profile lists Framework NY.Recently at Good Room, Paragon, Signal · often with Eva Loveless, DAYTONA 500, Sevyn Love, none of them here that night
