“FAUZIA first broke through as a DJ.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
FAUZIA first broke through as a DJ. Inspired by the interwoven legacies of fast music from either side of the Atlantic, her monthly NTS show sees her blend together the best of footwork, jungle and everything in between — with the likes of Mall Grab, Kode9, DJ Taye, Om Unit and Ikonika stopping in for guest spots. The start of 2020 saw FAUZIA start to showcase her own original music for the first time, first with a celebrated production mix for DISCWOMAN, and then with a contribution to the flagship 10th edition in HAUS of ALTR’s various artists series — picking up glowing press from Resident Advisor, Mixmag, DJ Mag, Crack, Pitchfork and more in the process. It was with a series of missives released during the pandemic that FAUZIA’s music really started to evolve - from the starry-eyed breaks of ‘Fragments’ through to ‘are you hoping for a miracle?’ and ‘time’, a pair of downtempo pop releases that saw FAUZIA sing on her material for the first time while also collaborating with Kelela and George Riley. Her new live show debuted at Wysing Polyphonic in the Summer of 2021, followed by appearances supporting Loraine James and Space Afrika. December 2021 saw FAUZIA sell out her first headline at Southbank Centre’s Purcell room, accompanied by her band.

    the whole biography
Celebrated for traveling the world to find new musical gems, from the Middle East, Europe, Tokyo, and Bangkok, Kristine Barilli has spent the last 20 years traversing the far reaching corners of the globe in pursuit of the world’s most elusive and undiscovered musical gems. She is a born and bred New Yorker with a masterful ability to translate her listening habits into rhapsodic DJ sets. As sharp as the city she hails from, Barilli’s punk ethos blends seamlessly with her eclectic style, often incorporating rare and esoteric tracks into her performances. Her sound, which she describes as “sleazy and street-based,” is an ode to her independent conviction, creating a symbiotic relationship between her vast knowledge and ever-expanding audience. Barilli has built a reputation for her unique and eclectic sound, sharing stages with prominent artists like DJ Harvey, 2ManyDJs, and James Murphy. She’s a fixture in New York’s music scene, regularly playing at venues such as Good Room, Public Records, and Knockdown Center. She also hosts “Totally Corrupt,” a monthly radio show on The Lot Radio and works as the lead music supervisor for ROVR and New York’s Raina. She has been featured in numerous books such as Dust and Grooves and VINYL NYC for her extensive and diverse record collection and has served as Music Director/Curator at Public Records as well as Fotografiska Museum + Currently Peoples NY.
