“Shannon Dawson is a dance floor professional.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Shannon Dawson is a dance floor professional. From the club to the recording booth and beyond, the kinetic DJ exhibits a deep understanding of what moves people at any place or time. Born, raised, and currently based in New York, Shannon has brought her unlimited exuberance and expert DJ skills to Chongqing, China, where she lived for five years and lit up the decks at local clubs and parties across the country. There she co-founded and owned CREAM, Chongqing’s first hip-hop–focused club, and rounded out her nightlife experience operating and booking for the subcultural spot. Shannon’s sound: Big and bold. She commands the decks with impressive technical skill—she’s noted for her layering and phrasing, dizzying handwork, and big-time blends. Consistently unearthing fresh, fun, fiery tracks and off-kilter beats, she delivers hard-hitting club, breakbeat, classic and ghetto house, techno, global bass, and hip-hop. She’s slayed the CDJs in revered New York venues including Nowadays, Elsewhere, House of Yes, and Good Room. Outside of the club, Shannon graces the airwaves of the Lot Radio and Radio Bonita with her energetic mixes and sunny personality. She is also the host of the podcast Club Management, which explores music’s ability to bridge communities around the world through thoughtful interviews with such guests as TRAXMAN, UNIIQU3, Bohan Phoenix, Ikonika, and Dance Mania founder Ray Barney.Recently at Good Room, public records, Elsewhere · often with Niyah West, Will Jack, Giovannii, none of them here that night
“Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Expect to hear everything present in the consciousness of DJ Voices during one of her performances. For the past decade, the Brooklyn-based DJ has been cutting a deeper path through the party, a committed distributor of new sound and undefined genres. “Crazy music” you could call it. (She does.) In a time of homogenized cultural zones and drip-fed algorithmic taste, DJ Voices is an artist specializing in something deep(er). Her sets—free-range, roving, topographic and ecstatic— are free of the usual moderating impulses. They aren’t necessarily built to offer shelter or reassurances. But more of a story: The one about our cracked future-present and its radiating potential. It’s a story that DJ Voices (real name: Kristin Malossi) has been steadily exploring through her work, currently as a resident at The Lot Radio and formerly as a resident at Nowadays, where she also worked as a booker for seven years. Her presence in the Brooklyn electronic community has expanded its contours towards curiosity and exploration and pleasure, but also unafraid of challenge. Take one example: she may be the only DJ with an active book club, “Late Nites Book Club.” The regular reading group hosted by Malossi takes up writing across genre and topic, such as aesthetics, death, rave culture, and sonics. Fitting, given that the Florida-born DJ has become an outspoken voice on contemporary club culture, candidly articulating the variety of sensations and techniques of the dance floor experience. For Voices, club spaces can also serve as cites of discovery and experimentation; “the dance floor is my classroom” you might often hear her say. And it’s best to keep that in mind as you head into a Voices set, as class will most certainly be in session.Electro on 2, Breaks on 2, Power Electronics on 1 and Acid House on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesRecently at Million Goods, Bossa Nova Civic Club, H0L0 · often with DJ Plead, Sister Zo, L&D, none of them here that night

Living in Brooklyn by way of Karachi, Pakistan, Dynoman is widely credited as an instrumental figure in the formation and development of the Karachi underground and Pakistan’s electronic music scene. He has been producing electronic music under the Dynoman moniker since 2009, and co-founded Forever South, Pakistan’s first internationally recognized digital label, in 2012. Over the years, his sound has evolved alongside his lived experience, remaining rhythm-forward, percussion-driven, and rooted in movement. After relocating to New York in 2017, Dynoman founded Rare Frequency Transmissions, which he continues to co-run. He is a frequent presence in the Brooklyn underground and self-releases much of his work through Dynoman Music, showcasing a wide breadth of styles and approaches. When stepping into the booth, his sets are shaped by the moment rather than pre-planning, often unfolding without a fixed trajectory as he responds to the energy of the space and the room. In 2023, Dynoman co-founded Tarka, a project celebrating diaspora through artistic practice. In recent years, his work has increasingly explored rhythm, repetition, and shared states through sound, with live performances and recordings reflecting a deep engagement with percussion-led, future-facing approaches grounded in South Asian lineage.Experimental on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesTheir RA profile lists Rare Frequency Transmissions.Recently at Xanadu, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays · often with Bergsonist, Nabihah Iqbal, Ushka, none of them here that night

“Between his own DJing and his work behind Sorry Records, Nick Boyd has become something of a staple of the New York’s club circuit.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Between his own DJing and his work behind Sorry Records, Nick Boyd has become something of a staple of the New York’s club circuit. Behind the boards, he pairs old-school house and techno sounds with a more new-school kitchen-sink mentality. He plays with reverence but without idolatry, paying homage to his favorite scenes without tying himself to them. A hopeless devotee and passionate fixture of the New York City rave underground, Nick is the founder of beloved Brooklyn based DIY label Sorry Records which has been putting out records from a wide variety of stand out folks from the American dance music underground for over in half a decade now. Nick is a long time resident on both The Lot Radio and 8 Ball Radio and has contributed mixes to Honcho Podcast, Rinse FM, and Spontaneous Affinity. He currently runs a monthly Sorry Records residency at Brooklyn techno institution Bossa Nova Civic Club and has played everywhere from Nowadays to North Carolina’s Slingshot Festival, Good Room to beloved Pittsburgh queer rave Jellyfish, FOURTH WORLD to long running Boston-based house music institution Social Studies, as well as made multiple appearances at The Carry Nation’s legendary residency party in NYC. Nick also occasionally writes about music and interviews artists for Love Injection, Crack Magazine, The Fader, and Bolting Bits. ---------------------------------------- Clubs: Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club, ANIMAL, Good Room, Paragon, Mansions, Jupiter Disco, House of Yes, H0L0, Good Life Bar (Boston), The Listening Club (Chicago), Glen Falls House, The Deep End, Good Bar, ... One of New York's hardest working crews, and a bottomless well of support for the city's scene." - Sweat Equity “As the boss of Sorry Records – one of New York’s finest contempo dance labels – Nick Boyd has been giving multiple leg-ups to a fresh wave of producers like Tony G, C Powers, DJ Wawa and Olive T.” – Chal Ravens, The Face “Over the past five years Sorry Records has been both a bedrock and beneficiary of New York City’s fertile scene.” — Gabriel Szatan, Beatportal "A currently indispensable NYC label" - Piotyr Orlov, Dada Strain “Since its foundation in 2015, Sorry Records has become a critical outpost in New York’s dance-music scene. The label balances an unwavering commitment to the city’s dance music history with a dead-serious approach to having a good time. “Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party. Believing it was a drag booking, she was informed a week before that the party actually wanted her to play music for an hour. After spending lots of time going out and working as a host, and frequently mentioning the desire to be a DJ, she decided this was the time to commit. She had her beginnings (other than the aforementioned Zoom party) in intimate basement gatherings, and later on rooftops. With her job being closed at the time, she was at an advantage, and practiced very frequently. By late 2021, she was presented with her first opportunity to produce a party--which is now CRITICAL HIT. What started as a bi-weekly Wednesday party with humble attendance, evolved into an event that maintains a strong following and crowd, and now takes place once a month on the weekends. This party features a PS2 at almost every event, and sometimes operates games at other parties, showing her interests in building communities around mutual hobbies, as well as providing a unique experience in what she does. The gaming influence is reflected in her DJ sets, too. She produces Juicy Fruit, a recurring bar night with a focus on danceable music the crowd can sometimes sing along too, and Omega. Omega is her sci-fi themed dance party, which she co-produces.Recently at Trans-Pecos, Jade, Paragon · often with Xana 101, Spiral Sisters, L4RV4, none of them here that night
