    the whole biography
Bedouin is an American-based music production and DJ partnership consisting of Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe. Together they share a broad sonic vision that pulls from their diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and worldly travels. As musicians, singers, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists, they've pioneered a distinctive and timeless sound that has connected with crowds from all corners of the world. Their sophisticated productions are featured on some of the world’s most notable labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, All Day I Dream, and recently their own imprint - Human By Default. Select major label releases include remixes for Black Coffee and Virgil Abloh on Ultra and Sony/Universal. They have called Burning Man home since 2012, making it their cultural, social, and musical experimentation playground for nearly a decade. Burning Man became a creative refuge and gave them the freedom to take a new musical approach. Being in a place that exposed them to new experiences, sounds, and feelings, they began carving a new sound that connects emotions and celebrates cultures around the world. It travels through time, telling stories rich with history but still with space for the future. Their time spent at Burning Man has been integral for the musical movement that is Bedouin. As some even say, "Bedouin...they are a genre on their own." The duo was featured twice on BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, once in 2016 and again in 2020, with four hours of all-original productions and remixes. In 2017, they earned the Essential New Tune title for their revered remake-cover of Pink Floyd’s “Set Control For The Heart Of The Sun” which was personally blessed by Pink Floyd's drummer Nick Mason. 2017 also marked the inception of the duo's weekly Ibiza residency and event concept, Saga, which quickly cemented itself as one of the island's most sought-after weekly parties, earning the 2019 award for "Best Night In Ibiza" by the DJ awards. They wrapped up 2017 by being named “Breakthrough artists of the year” by Mixmag. 2018 was another landmark year for the duo as they made their debut at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the US along with a series of European tours which included performances at major festivals like Tomorrowland and International Music Summit. Their European tour also included playing at some of Ibiza’s most iconic venues and events such as Circoloco at DC-10, Amnesia, Ushuaïa, and Hï Ibiza. Upon completion of their tour, they began a residency at Wynn Las Vegas, becoming one of the first underground acts to gain such status, as well as at Scorpios in Mykonos. Followed by a slew of original releases, 2020 marked the launch of their record label Human By Default with their Whistleman EP, which was featured on Forbes. Since its inception in 2017, Bedouin’s Ibiza residency, Saga, quickly cemented itself as one of the island’s most revered parties, celebrated by locals and visitors alike.[1] In 2017, Guy Laliberté handpicked Bedouin to helm Sunday nights at his HEART nightclub in Ibiza over the summer. Quickly establishing themselves as one of the island’s most compelling acts, the first season of their avant-garde SAGA residency was hailed as “one of the most successful season residency debuts of all time” by Pete Tong. Additional SAGA installments soon followed with the North American debut of the popular event series in their hometown of Brooklyn in December 2017 as well as in Miami during Miami Music Week in February 2018. Invited back to host a second consecutive season at the landmark Ibiza nightclub, Bedouin again presented an impeccably curated and diverse selection of some of the world’s most sought-after artists alongside their signature production and performers.
Their RA profile lists Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical Music, Kindisch Records, Supernature Records and 6 more.

2015 saw the brothers swinging to new trees, retiring their previous labels to focus on their new label 'Hommage.' It was the year of transformation for the German producers, developing and tailoring a sound suited perfectly for the unique club nuances while still keeping the core elements of melodic chords and grooves synonymous with the duos productions. 2015 unveiled Monkey Safari’s remix for Marc Houle’s “Pepper” on Richie Hawtin’s label Minus and their hugely successful “Cranes” and “Walls“ EPs that presented opportunities for Monkey Safari to work with some exciting musicians, such as Wolf + Lamb and Kölsch, techno heavy weights Guy Gerber and Josh Wink, as well as one of dance music’s most iconic producers, Moby. 2016 followed in a similar fashion with a series of EPs and remixes released throughout the year showcasing the developed and matured sound apparent in the brothers' latest movements. At the start of the year, Monkey Safari’s remix for Moby & The Void Pacific Choir was the pick of the bunch, returning the favor after Moby’s successful rework of the duo’s track “Walls” last year. Their first EP of 2016, “On”, featured remixes from Techno legend Paco Osuna alongside French producer Chloé, followed by a second EP in June, “Bernstein”, with remixes by John Digweed & Nick Muir and Spanish DJ and producer UNER. August saw the release of their most recent 4- track EP, “Boris”, with remixes by Tel Aviv-based producer Guy Mantzur and Brazilian producer Victor Ruiz, reaching Beatport’s Tech House Top 10. After the successful “Woo” and “Woo Remixes” EPs, Monkey Safari were able to sign amazing Blond:ish, legendary John Tajada, and newcomer Marino Canal for a four track EP on their Hommage imprint. The duo’s efforts in the studio have transcended to their DJ sets with stand out shows at Time Warp USA & Germany. Summer 2016 saw the brothers testing their evolving sound once again to new crowds with a slot at Awakenings Festival as the stand out attraction. On top of a heavy touring schedule at world renowned clubs and headlining slots at festivals, the duo rekindle their love for party promotion since their tender years in their hometown of Halle, Germany, where they own the infamous and recently remodeled “Charles Bronson” club. 2017 has been yet another impressive year for the duo to with releases on the likes of UNER’s Solar Distance and their own Hommage imprint. Their most recent release ‘Oxy’ featured as part of John Digweed’s ‘Bedrock Frequencies’ compilation which included 31 exclusive tracks from some of the labels favourite artists, reaching #2 in Beatport’s Progressive House chart. With a new album scheduled for the late months, expect the rest of the year to be equally as impressive as the duo aim to make it their biggest to date. The German outfit has been on an incredible run of form with promising developments in all of their endeavors and exciting news still to come. Be it a fresh remix or EP drop, DJ set or party, Monkey Safari will be sure to touch all scopes of dance culture with no signs of deceleration on the horizon. Their mandate remains the same, sending sunny vibes to make even the darkest dance floors smile.
