Michael’s love for DJing and music production started in Los Angeles at the early age of twelve and continued to ripen after completing a degree in Audio Engineering in San Francisco. His inherent passion for promoting and hosting events got thrown into the mix, founded on the importance of creating a space where people feel safe and can freely "dance like nobody's watching.” This methodology was the inspiration and concept for his brand and award-winning weekly party, Housepitality, going strong now for 21 years and becoming an institution for local, domestic and international artists, dancers and patrons in San Francisco. The brand has since expanded to Los Angeles, Chicago, and his new hometown, Brooklyn, New York. His greatest success to date is accredited to writing, producing, and performing live with the eclectic electronic ensemble, PillowTalk. Formed in the summer of 2011 in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco, PillowTalk's music fuses house, disco, classic R&B, soul, funk, and boogie with indie dance. With over ten releases including their 2018 sophomore album, “All People” and seven live tours around the globe, this project has received notoriety from fans, press, music venues, and festivals worldwide. Additional compositions and productions embodying his love for jazz, funk, R&B, and Latin rhythms can be found under his solo artist name, Michael Tello. His other live production/DJ duo, Signal Flow, has received praise for their collaborations with vocalists Kevin Knapp, Gustaph (Hercules and The Love Affair), Navid Izadi, Gretz and Michael Tello himself. Michaels new solo project, “Lil T,” signed to New York's Wolf + Lamb Records realizes an uncensored and deeper side to his productions with a slate of releases on Soul Clap Records, Uniting Souls Music and W+L. Along with some sonically pure remixes for Francesca Lombardo, Lee Curtis, Soul Clap, LowHeads plus much more cooking in the oven for 2020 which truly showcase this seasoned producer's variety and ability to make each song his own. With an extensive discography under his belt including releases on Life & Death, Visionquest, Crew Love, Wolf + Lamb, Kompakt, Jive, Culprit, Leftroom Limited, Om Records, Smoke N’ Mirrors and Roam Recordings, as well as remixes for Francesca Lombardo, Groove Armada, Kasper Bjork, DJ Tennis, HNQO, Laid Back, Soul Clap, W+L, Nick Monaco, Life On Planets, Lee Curtiss, Tone Of Arc, PillowTalk, Navid Izadi, Midnight Magic, Future Generations, Set Mo, B.Bravo and Lonely Boy, there is no doubt that Michael will continue doing what he loves and is most passionate about, music.Their RA profile lists Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap Records, Uniting Souls Music and Housepit CHI Records.Recently at Apollo Studio, 275 Park BK, Moondog Hifi · often with Ray Zuniga, Baby Prince, Sticky Dojah, none of them here that night

Whether playing keyboards with PillowTalk or DJing solo at events like Houghton Festival and Love International, Shane’s diverse musical roots shine through in his song selection and technique. Growing up in New York City as a youth in the Metropolitan Opera, Shane cut his teeth mixing hip-hop and R&B records while studying classical piano & music theory at The Manhattan School of Music. Known for his eclectic closing-set each year at The Sunset Campout and annual Disco Knights slot at Burning Man, Shane’s skill lies in weaving together a wide range of genres and rhythms satisfying audiences from New York’s Panther Room to London’s Saatchi Gallery. Last year Shane was sponsored by Polaroid Originals headlining their opening party in Amsterdam. His summer tour was set to include Love International, Houghton, Dusk among others but the pandemic procured several livestreams instead including Diaries from the Underground with Holmar and several sets from Monarch in San Francisco under the “Songs for Lovers” moniker with partner, Alvaro Z. Shane has released music on Roam, Crew Love, and PillowTalk Music and will focus on more original music in 2023.Their RA profile lists Roam Recordings, Touch Of Class Records and PillowTalk Music.Recently at Apollo Studio, Dead Letter No. 9, 275 Park BK · often with Greg Paulus, Holmar, SOLANA, none of them here that night
“Born and raised in Paris by an Italian mother and German-American father, Alex Kanze grew up in a multicultural and multilingual household where wax ruled.”

the whole biography
Born and raised in Paris by an Italian mother and German-American father, Alex Kanze grew up in a multicultural and multilingual household where wax ruled. His father played Jazz records from artists like Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck and Thelonious Monk as well as classical music such as Bach, Stravinsky, Chopin, Debussy and George Gershwin. His mother introduced him toRock’n’Roll, Funk, Soul, R&B and Disco with James Brown, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, The Bee Gees, ABBA and Gloria Gaynor. Alex also became fully fluent in French, Italian, German and English by the age of 8 and learned Spanish later at 16. His parents noticed that Alex developed a precise ear for music, tone, language and pronunciation because of his upbringing. Therefore they were quick to enroll him in classical piano and guitar lessons at a very young age.Despite his parents’ push to develop a musical education, Alex joined a fine arts school in the heart of Paris but continued his music lessons. At 16 one of his guitar teachers introduced him to Gypsy Jazz and Alex quickly started to perform and adore the energetic jazz genre. During his early teens, Alex would often bring his guitar to the Palais de Tokyo or Les Quais de Jussieux where he would meet up and make friends with people from Morocco, Algeria, Senegal, and Mali..Together, they would blend the guitar, djembe, darbuka and didgeridoo to substitute the bass and played to random crowds from sunset to sunrise. In 2009 at the age of 18, Alex left Paris on his own to move to NYC without knowing any friends, connections or relatives there. He strongly believed that the world was beautiful because of its diversity and wanted to be in a city even more international than Paris to pursue his creative aspirations. He initially missed Paris but didn’t regret his decision and found solace in playing French Gypsy jazz first in places like the Washington Square Park, Tompkins Square Park or Union Square like he used to back in Paris. He rapidly moved upwards to play at places such as Fadas, the Keep, and Radegast. In 2011 Alex moved from Crown Heights to Bushwick where he was introduced to new cultures and sounds such asPuerto Rican Salsa, Mexican Cumbia and Dominican Bachata. The influence from salsa and 70s West African music persuaded him to pick up the trumpet around 2014.During that time, Alex met some of the founders of NYC’s underground minimal techno and house scene, most notably Resolute where he started to learn about electronic music and DJing. For a while Alex would play Gypsy Jazz guitar or trumpet jazz at cafes in the evening and at night, DJ at clubs and warehouses. However, he realized he wanted to have the endurance and energy a DJ could bring but still have the musical and melodic interaction with the crowd that he felt from came from playing instruments. From 2023 onwards, Alex solely played live using synthesizers and Octatrack samplers to record and loop his trumpet live with pre-recorded piano and percussion from his studio and started to blend electronic drums and beats with Latin and Afro percussion andmelodic jazz trumpet. He now plays regularly in various venues in NYC such as Keybar, Moondog, H0l0, Apollo Studio, where he fully improvises and plays anything and everything he came across during his lifelong musical journey.Recently at Umbra, Moondog Hifi, KEYBAR · often with Jack Tonelli, DBL_BBL, Vin Gioffre, none of them here that night

“Born and raised in Vermont, Brian began producing music on a second-hand PC computer at the age of 12.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Born and raised in Vermont, Brian began producing music on a second-hand PC computer at the age of 12. His path through music crossed the country with time spent in Boston & Montana where he studied graphic design. Early influences that drew his focus into electronic music included working actively in local hip-hop scenes as a DJ, producer and studio engineer. Electronic music was a constant anchor point that became more focused after hearing the record collections of local DJ mentors, and travelling frequently to festivals like Movement in Detroit & Camp Bisco in New England. His DJ arc began by hosting weekly college house parties, then moving into the clubs and renegade mountain festivals of Montana. This trajectory eventually led to performing multiple sets of original music at Burning Man in 2016. That experience spurred the decision to relocate to NYC and fully immerse himself in music culture. Since that move, Brian has carved out a place for himself in the New York community by hosting a weekly Open Decks event for 4 years, and aligning himself with the well established ReSolute crew, working behind the scenes to help the event grow. Brian is co-founder of his own label, Tri Music Group. which has released more than 50 projects since its orgins in 2014, including three vinyl pressings distributed by Yoyaku. The label has been the home for a steady stream of his own solo work, from dance singles & EPs to fully developed concept albums. The label also features curated releases from his own close friends. This includes music by Spin Department, his collaborative project with label co-founder Shane Johnson aka Tessub. The recent Spin Department effort, ‘Sorting Days’ was released on 12” vinyl and features a remix from Berlin based group Wareika. This project has found support from ReSolute residents O.BEE & Tomas Station, and other notable DJs in NYC and beyond. As a performer, Brian splits his attention equally between DJing and live performance. His DJ sets are known to walk between many genres, blending digital and vinyl formats, shifting style and energy levels depending on the venue and environment. Operating under the philosophy that DJing is reacting in realtime to the energy of the crowd, Brian approaches each set as a fresh slate to create a novel sonic experience for his audience. Over the past six years, Brian has also developed a unique live set, building a fully customized Ableton file containing stems of his own productions that he then remixes in creative ways. The sound develops in a non-linear fashion, with the addition of improvised rhythms from a drum machine and outboard effects. Given the range of his catalog, these sets can range from ambient and downtempo to club-focused house and techno. Brian has brought his live set to notable stages such as ReSolute & Cityfox, as well as club gigs at TBA Brooklyn, H0l0, Bossa Nova Civic Club & Flash Club in DC Brian is also the founder of Co/Function, a monthly event in NYC focused on live electronic music and visual improvisation. Each event is a curated group of up to 8 musicians & visual artists to collaborate & improvise music and visuals live. The individual artists are linked together by a common midi clock, using DJ mixers to blend together synths, drum machines, traditional instruments and their own vocals. This recurring night is quickly becoming a staple in the NYC electronic music community, staying on the cutting edge of technology and electronic music culture.
