Erika Andrea Murcia Ruiz, known artistically as RUIZ OSC1, is a Colombian DJ and producer from Bogotá, celebrated for her refined vinyl technique and genre-defying sound. Her performances have graced some of the world’s most respected venues, including Bassiani, VENT Tokyo, Basement New York, Tresor, FOLD, and RSO, alongside appearances at Intercell, Vault Sessions, and showcases for Mutual Rytm and Technics, where she currently serves as an ambassador. Rooted in a lifelong passion for music, RUIZ OSC1 draws inspiration from her mother — a singer and music reseller — who introduced her to salsa, merengue, and Colombian folklore during her upbringing in the late ’80s and early ’90s. After relocating to Europe in 2010, she began blending these rhythmic traditions with contemporary electronic elements, creating her distinctive sound, which she defines as “folkloric techno.” RUIZ OSC1 made her debut on KAOS with contributions to Ritualistic Discoteca and the release of her solo EP Grooveroots. She has since collaborated with acclaimed labels such as Emerald and Molekül, further expanding her sonic identity and global presence. Since making her Miami debut in 2020 Diossa has slowly but steadily been turning heads in the music scene. Some of her career highlights include playing at Elements Music Festival, ATV Records, Treehouse Miami, Celine Orlando, etc. Furthermore, opening for artists like Layton Giordani, Brian Cid, Serge Devant, Art Department, and Simon Vuarambon, just to name a few. Colombian rooted and Miami based, Diossa was exposed to the industry at a young age. With her father being a renowned music producer and her mother a theater artist and club owner, she has grown up playing various instruments and an innate ability to connect and communicate through music. Her DJ sets are emblematic of her flavorful collection and knowledge of music. Diossa always looks at things from the perspective of the dance floor. Her sets are genre-bending, a delicate and thoughtful selection of techno, afro house, and indie rhythms. Artists that inspire her are: Anna, Ivory (IT), Andre Lodemann, Tibi Dabo, Jimi Jules, and Cioz.
