What began as the Latin-industrial-hardcore fury of FALSE WITNESS has metamorphosed into something far more seductive: JUNIOR M. The M stands for Machine or Makina in Spanish, a nod to the rewiring of their production practice. Additionally, "Junior Makina" was one of their earliest monikers for studio creations that landed on the more playful side of club and house music in 2012. Their sound is queer, a touch sleazy, and aimed squarely for sweat-soaked dancefloors. Inspired by their years living in Berlin and DJing regularly at clubs like Lab.oratory, Renate and RSO, they’ve crafted a unique sound that blends Italo disco’s yearning synth lines with Dembow’s propulsion. Their sets, which move fluidly across genres, are engineered to feel cosmic and flirtatious. JUNIOR M officially landed in late 2023 with City Flowers (EMS021), their debut EP and first release under the new name. The arrival also coincided with the False Witness farewell tour, a victory lap across Asia that hit Singapore, Australia, Japan, China, and South Korea. JUNIOR M is now based in New York City and serves as one of the primary organizers of the club night series AUTOMESSE.Their RA profile lists E-Missions, Gyration Station and FIST.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Hush, Paragon · often with Shyboi, FALSEBOI, Henry R, none of them here that night

the whole biography
As a lifelong musician, Estro has always explored the visceral aspects of sound. From a young age, her interest in sonics manifested in a boundless desire for experimentation. With a background in jazz music as a trumpet player since childhood, Estro’s experiences with improvisation and performance on the stage found their way to the DJ booth. Her fervent, intense passion for expression and movement finds its way into textural, spine-tingling production and jacking, sweaty, sexy sessions on the dancefloor. Outspoken, driving, and deep, Estro's performances and sets often feel like a manifesto of sorts, rolling and driving tension to its limit and pushing the envelope for New York's musical landscape. Estro's musical explorations have led her to digging through the deep, rich history of techno & house, blending timeless, smashing deep cuts with some of the genre's newest, most novel offerings. Her philosophy of maintaining digging culture leads to an eclectic, potent, and deeply rooted sound, prepared to be pushed into a futuristic and forward-thinking direction. Serene, jazzy, atmospheric selections of deep house, minimal, and dub techno are intertwined with driving, thumping peak-hours techno & trance. Estro uses her ever-expanding knowledge of her selections to captivate the dancefloor and continue to expand the capabilities of sound. As the founder of Orchidance, her new event series and personal project, Estro seeks to take her explorations of dance music and its surrounding culture into a more intentional and inclusive space. She hopes to continue creating a space for serenity and self-discovery, with an eclectic and personal curation of artists and collaborators from her ever-expanding rolodex of talent local and abroad. In the coming years, Estro hopes to continue to expand the capabilities for Orchidance to be a place of rejuvenation, enrichment, and exploration for New York's music community.Recently at Mansions, The Chocolate Factory, The House · often with senoritajuicy, Leafy Greens, Amy L'Nitrate, none of them here that night

Between his own DJing and his work behind Sorry Records, Nick Boyd has become something of a staple of the New York’s club circuit. Behind the boards, he pairs old-school house and techno sounds with a more new-school kitchen-sink mentality. He plays with reverence but without idolatry, paying homage to his favorite scenes without tying himself to them. A hopeless devotee and passionate fixture of the New York City rave underground, Nick is the founder of beloved Brooklyn based DIY label Sorry Records which has been putting out records from a wide variety of stand out folks from the American dance music underground for over in half a decade now. Nick is a long time resident on both The Lot Radio and 8 Ball Radio and has contributed mixes to Honcho Podcast, Rinse FM, and Spontaneous Affinity. He currently runs a monthly Sorry Records residency at Brooklyn techno institution Bossa Nova Civic Club and has played everywhere from Nowadays to North Carolina’s Slingshot Festival, Good Room to beloved Pittsburgh queer rave Jellyfish, FOURTH WORLD to long running Boston-based house music institution Social Studies, as well as made multiple appearances at The Carry Nation’s legendary residency party in NYC. Nick also occasionally writes about music and interviews artists for Love Injection, Crack Magazine, The Fader, and Bolting Bits. ---------------------------------------- Clubs: Nowadays, Bossa Nova Civic Club, ANIMAL, Good Room, Paragon, Mansions, Jupiter Disco, House of Yes, H0L0, Good Life Bar (Boston), The Listening Club (Chicago), Glen Falls House, The Deep End, Good Bar, ... One of New York's hardest working crews, and a bottomless well of support for the city's scene." - Sweat Equity “As the boss of Sorry Records – one of New York’s finest contempo dance labels – Nick Boyd has been giving multiple leg-ups to a fresh wave of producers like Tony G, C Powers, DJ Wawa and Olive T.” – Chal Ravens, The Face “Over the past five years Sorry Records has been both a bedrock and beneficiary of New York City’s fertile scene.” — Gabriel Szatan, Beatportal "A currently indispensable NYC label" - Piotyr Orlov, Dada Strain “Since its foundation in 2015, Sorry Records has become a critical outpost in New York’s dance-music scene. The label balances an unwavering commitment to the city’s dance music history with a dead-serious approach to having a good time. Their best material seems like it could have come out in the ‘90s, were it not for the of-the-moment production techniques and references in the liner notes.” - Michael McKinney, Passion of the WeissTheir RA profile lists Sorry Records.Recently at Earthly Delights, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Libera · often with Russell E.L.
