    the whole biography
As an explorer of several sonic palettes since the mid-90s, Martyn's aesthetic traces back to his roots in UK-originated hybrids of bass music with an added flavour of Detroit-influenced jazz. But these days, Martyn is more than just a DJ and producer. His work spans multiple projects, from mentoring emerging artists to platforming new producers through his 3024 label. In 2007, he co-founded 3024 alongside Erosie. The duo have released a celebrated body of work from Jacques Greene, Leon Vynehall and Martyn himself, including Martyn's collaborations with Spaceape and OM Unit. Remixes supplied by Ben Klock and Flying Lotus have also left a stamp on the label's collection. Recently, 3024 has signed fresh talents, including Otik and TSVI / Anunaku. Most 3024 signees stem from Martyn's Artist Mentoring Program on Patreon. Launched in 2020, he uses the Program to mentor producers at all stages by offering one-to-one lessons, group sessions and Q&As with renowned figures like Luke Slater, Skee Mask and dBridge. Martyn connects the Program with 3024 by releasing a selection of his student's work on V/A compilations. The pandemic allowed Martyn to rethink archaic structures in dance music and help producers looking to break into the industry. Whilst on tour in 2022, Martyn meets his students to nurture genuine student-teacher connections. An essential element in Martyn's work, he firmly believes this is a modern, healthy way to support the next generation of artists in electronic music. Like his productions on Ostgut Ton, Brainfeeder and Intercept, Martyn's style of DJing is uncategorizable. He's performed worldwide and helms a residency at Panorama Bar in Berlin, and on the radio, his monthly 'Darkest Light' show on NTS offers a glimpse into his far-reaching world. As Martyn's story unfolds, he keeps community in mind. This is Martyn's post-pandemic way of treating his craft, whether it's co-running 3024, teaching on the Mentoring Program or producing music. Martyn views his work through a conscious lens while blending all disciplines—an approach set to prevail for the entirety of his career.
Their RA profile lists Ninja Tune, Warp Records, Ostgut Ton, Hyperdub and 6 more.

    the whole biography
After getting her start performing at underground poetry events in her hometown, she eventually moved on to playing live beat sets during open mic nights at one of KC's most pivotal queer nightlife institutions of the 21st century, the Uptown Arts Bar. Occasionally she'd wander upstairs to Niche, a 100-cap club with a legendary sound system known as the Meta HiFi. There she got her first taste of the sounds of the UK bass continuum and the LA beat scene, with its prominent figureheads like Flying Lotus, Ras G and Shlohmo. Ever the nomad, she would spend her mid-twenties traveling, flitting between cities like New York and LA and the mountainous terrain of the Colorado Rockies. At 26 years old, she left behind a stable career in psychotherapy to pursue her creative dreams. This would lead her back to Niche where a ravenous desire to evolve as an artist connected her with Peter Anthony, aka Coughman, who ran the independent KC collective and label, Intelligent Sound. Soon Anthony encouraged Zo and her friends Mazzy Mann and Lorelei Kretsinger to build a platform of their own. In October 2017, the three of them founded the UN/TUCK queer/trans collective and record label. Over the next two years, they tirelessly built UN/TUCK into an internationally recognized platform, releasing their own music and organizing shows and parties curated specifically for trans and queer people in Kansas City. Under the name BTRFLY, Zo produced her own LA-inspired beats and rapped over them in her sets. As she delved further into the realms of Chicago house, early 2000s UK dubstep, and the hybrid sounds of Hessle Audio, Hyperdub and Idle Hands, she discovered a profound love for DJing and a different kind of production. Now based in Brooklyn, she has made definitive creative statements in 2022, releasing her debut EP, Screw Cheek, on acclaimed UK club label, Scuffed Recordings, and a follow-up EP, Freak Shift, on Martyn's hallowed 3024 imprint, as well as a slew of national bookings at Bunker NY, Texture Detroit, Sole Rehab, clubs like Nowadays, Good Room and Kremwerk, festivals like Slingshot and Honcho Campout and many more on the horizon. It's clear that Zo has solidified her place as an emerging artist firmly in her own lane, with tracks that span the continuum of UK bass and North American techno and house, and mixes that seamlessly capture and defy her genres of interest, blending deep dark percussive bass and broken beat with blistering techno, psychedelic house, east coast club and more.

Spending the past few years honing his sound and technique, Bambounou, a key figure in the Parisian scene, has gained his position from his genre bending and jubilant electronic music productions and laying down solid freight train DJ sets around the globe. Born Jeremy Guindo, Bambounou is the product of vast internal landscape where he roves freely in search of inspiration. Just as his alloyed French-Malian-Polish background has grown him a strong backbone of musical independence, so too has his love for astrophysics and dystopian sci-fi been distilled into futuristic interpretations UK techno, IDM and tribal sources. His effortless straddling of experimental eclecticism and 4x4 beat mastery helped Bambounou to early on catch the eye of Modeselektor, whose 50Weapons released two albums and five EPs of his axiom breaking dance incantations. Bambounou’s originality and craftsmanship has earned him some first rate remixes with the likes of Laurent Garnier, Jessy Lanza and Sampha. Collaborations with Margaret Dygas and Simo Cell also demonstrated his ability to innovate both creatively and technically. Add to this his experience ratcheting up the dance floors of some of the world’s best locations like Berghain/Panorama Bar, Concrete, De School, Freerotation, MoMA PS1 and Nuits Sonores and it should come as no surprise that Bambounou’s upcoming releases are being served with a healthy dose of anticipation.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Best known for his Level parties, Andrew Devlin has been booking some of the city's best house, techno, and hip-hop DJs for almost 10 years. His DJ sets reflect the party's vibe--equally focused on the party people and the record heads, serving up cutting-edge music with no pretense. A typical Devlin DJ set can span NY deep house, psychedelic minimal, UK bass music, and an odd Drake track. Many DJs claim to have range, but few blend Call Super and Barry White at peak time.
