She grew up in a family of Mexican & Ukrainian immigrant artists; punk rock, latin beats, and techno were always playing at home, which laid the foundation for Sasha’s approach to weaving genres together. Her musical taste is influenced by underground dance music history and always guided by the dancefloor. She has played at countless NY venues such as Nightmoves, Public Records, Le Bain, Baby’s All Right, Jupiter Disco, and has made several guest appearances on The Lot Radio. Her sets are a celebration of love and unity through dance, with an inclination toward disco, house, italo, funk, freestyle, new wave + more. In today's fast-paced culture of opportunism and ambition, you seldom meet an individual with remarkable abilities and a storied history of achievements concurrently anchored in humility. Thus, the virtuoso known as GE-OLOGY is a rare find indeed. During the 80's, the young Baltimore native eventually relocated to New York City, where his multi-dimensional talent was destined to ripen with opportunities that continue to ensue globally. This masterful music producer, exceptionally skilled DJ, and equally gifted visual artist has been acclaimed for over two decades, however he remains somewhat of a mystery. Over the course of his career, he's worked with the likes of Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, De La Soul, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Jem and even a young Tupac Shakur. After years of producing dominantly hip-hop tempo releases, he defiantly returned in 2015 with the dance floor monster "Moon Circuitry" featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe (his debut single on Theo Parrish's esteemed Sound Signature imprint). It was received in high regard as perhaps one of the top releases of the year in the underground dance music scene (instituting anticipation for his full-length LP scheduled to be released later this year). Although his roots in composing 4-on-the-floor dance tempo music dates as far back as his earliest hip-hop beats, this seemingly "new" direction boldly challenged expectations based on his previous body of work. Yet to the contrary, his very first production appearance came in the form of a collaboration with the Baltimore-based house music legends, The Basement Boys, who used one of his tracks for their 'Those Guys' moniker in 1993. Collecting records from the age of 5, playing instruments from age 9, and DJing since the age of 11...his relationship with music has been a lifelong journey of unyielding education & exploration. There's something very personal, intimate and risky in his approach to playing records that you don't often experience in today's DJ sets. Traveling across continents with selects from his carefully curated vinyl collection, he digs deep, weaving diverse genres that seamlessly coalesce to bring dance floors to life. ■Deep House on 14, Disco on 9, House on 11 and Conscious on 21. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Adeen (1), High Praise (2) (1) and Love Universal (1); their RA profile also lists Sony, Ubiquity Records, BMG, Sound Signature and 6 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at public records, Knockdown Center · often with Cosmo, Shawn Dub, Tom of England, none of them here that night
“JKriv is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and label owner.”
their own biography
the whole biography
JKriv is a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and label owner. With a professional musical career stretching nearly 2 decades, J has gained serious attention recently for his original productions and inspired DJ sets, and was called “an innovator of the scene” by Defected Records boss Simon Dunmore. It’s a title he has rightly earned, with releases and remixes on Joey Negro’s Z Records, Soundway Records, his own label Razor-N-Tape, among many others, plus massive new singles and remixes for Glitterbox. J brings a seasoned musicality to everything he touches, whether original productions, remixes or reworks and re-edits. A trained musician, his talent for dazzling live instrumentation is evident in original disco productions like his recent Traxsource #1 Soul/ Funk/Disco track Not That Serious (Big Love), Vertigo (Z Records) and Yo Love (Glitterbox). As a studio musician he has recorded bass, guitar, and/or written string & horn arrangements for Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco feat. Kathy Sledge, and as the producer of the sprawling Studio 54 Music: Night Magic Vol. 1 project, J reimagined disco classics with brand-new all-live studio recordings, translated through his modern club approach, garnering nearly 1.5 million plays for the lead single Souvenirs. J has a slew of new music forthcoming later this year and into 2022, including a release Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings, Razor-N-Tape, and Glitterbox. A purveyor of all things outer-national, JKriv has nurtured a long-standing love affair with the music of Brazil which he realized through his 2017 Férias ’77 LP compilation of reworks on Razor-N- Tape, his 2019 Aguaxirê EP on Detroit’s Rocksteady Disco, and multiple releases on Brazilian Mareh Festival’s label Barefoot Beats. He has remixed African artists for renowned labels Soundway and Africa Seven, and 80s French pop for label Pardonnez-Nous, and both classic and current Afro/Latin sounds for Razor-N-Tape. His music has garnered support from all quarters of club and radio DJs, such as Derrick Carter, Disclosure, Andrew Weatherall, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Mark Farina, BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and BB6’s Craig Charles, among many others. Like his productions, JKriv’s DJ sets showcase his deep and diverse taste, weaving eclectic disco, house, and offbeat selections together seamlessly, always with an ear for groove and harmony, and an eye to the dance floor. As a founding member and resident DJ of Hot Honey Sundays, JKriv helped lead the most buzz-worthy new party of Brooklyn’s incredible comeback summer of 2021, growing a 2000+ devoted weekly following of dancers and a formidable social media presence. J has performed live and DJ’d in over 30 countries and in nearly every state in the continental US, sharing bills with Todd Terje, Tony Humphries, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, and made his smashing debut at the Defected Croatia festival this past summer. A foundational member of the live disco band Escort, J has co-written/produced songs, and toured as bassist/guitarist with the group at Coachella, Sasquatch Festival, Electric Forest and innumerable club gigs around the world, as well as a original founding member and former bass player for the groundbreaking live-house group Tortured Soul. JKriv’s talents as a tastemaker extend beyond the studio and DJ booth, as co-owner of respected Brooklyn record label Razor-N-Tape. RNT now boasts a nearly 100-release-deep catalog that has garnered support and spins from some of the biggest names in modern club and radio, and is one of the most respected and consistent current independent dance music labels.Disco on 67, House on 52, Nu-Disco on 27 and Deep House on 23. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Bedits (1), Favorite Recordings (1) and Lumberjacks In Hell (1); their RA profile also lists Z Records, Disco Deviance, Discovery Recordings, Razor-N-Tape and 6 more. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Gabriela, Good Room, Jolene Sound Room Brooklyn · often with Peter Matson, Domenica, Jason Lindner, none of them here that night

As co-head of Razor-N-Tape, his musical sensibility has helped shaped the sound of some of the most respected underground disco and deep house to come out of New York City in the past 10 years. Aaron found dance music in the heyday of the 90's NYC rave & club scene and spent his formative years promoting famed New York Clubs Tunnel, Twilo, Vinyl and Limelight. Throughout the 2000s he made his home in Philadelphia and Chicago, but in 2010 he returned home to NYC where he soon connected with current partner JKriv to form Razor-N-Tape. Over the next 9 years and a catalog over 100 releases deep, RNT has come to define today’s sound of NYC disco and house, boasting an artist roster that includes Danny Krivit, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Dimitri From Paris, Ron Basejam, Lovebirds, Eli Escobar, DJ Vas and many more. In branching out into the Razor-N-Tape Reserve label as well as a 45 series, Dae’s ear-to-the-ground A&R skills have spawned success upon success with each new release, and has helped make Razor-N-Tape one of the most respected brands in underground music today. As a DJ, Aaron has shared the bill with dance music luminaries Dimitri From Paris, The Revenge, Kenny Dope, Josh Wink, Questlove, King Britt, Rich Medina, Mark Farina, Derrick L. Carter, Glenn Underground, Ron Trent, Terry Hunter, Ron Carroll, Todd Terry, and many more. He helped develop Philly’s long-running ‘Sundae’ party, as well as staple events of Winter Music Conference such as “Do You Wanna Boogie?” and “Afternoon Delight.” Along with partner JKriv, Dae currently holds down frequent Razor-N-Tape shows at Brooklyn dance destinations Public Records, Elsewhere, Good Room, and Black Flamingo, as well as regular nights at the illustrious Le Bain on top of the NYC Standard Hotel. Aaron’s career in dance music stretches over 2 decades, and as a DJ he draws influence from the classic likes of Masters At Work, Todd Terry, Larry Heard, Danny Krivit, Francois K and Joey Negro, while also infusing elements of modern electronic soul. Artists such as Crazy P, Spirit Catcher, Hot Toddy and Lovebirds have all defined an aspect of his playing style. The result is an infectious blend of deep house, disco, boogie, funk, and soul.Their RA profile lists Razor-N-Tape.Recently at Good Room, Ace Hotel Brooklyn, public records · often with Jason Lindner, Peter Matson, Olatunji Ojore, none of them here that night
