the whole biography
San Francisco-based selector Clearcast is one to watch. Leaning heavily into NUKG and tenebrous UK Bass, the artist’s sets often lie at the intersection between breakbeat bangers and introspective euphoria, with dreamy soundscapes and bright melodies pulled from internet electronica and experimental dance music. The Vitamin1000 resident’s live shows, often featured as RA picks, exude an inimitable vibrancy—with sets drawing from the artist’s own discography of smartly-arranged compositions and Soundcloud edits, containing plenty of glistening textures and ricocheting vocal melodies. The producer continues to impress with prolific releases, including “Crash and Fall” with Psykh on Tabula Rasa's first compilation tape "Here and Now" and as a producer on WTRGRL’s “Heroine,” as heard in Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC 6 Radio show and featured in Wonderland Magazine, and releases with labels such as Locked On, Helix, Tabula Rasa, fourbyfour and Duckland. Their music has received support from industry heavyweights including Disclosure, Salute, G Jones, Conducta, Chopsoe, Camoufly, Darby, scruz, Gemi, and 33 Below. With streams on Keep Hush, Rinse France, and Brooklyn’s The Lot, the artist continues to draw acclaim over the airwaves as a resident on SF-based radio station HydeFM hosting their own monthly show CLOUDCONTROL. Clearcast has played alongside electronic dance music acts that include Skrillex, Fred Again, Interplanetary Criminal, The Blessed Madonna, A.G. Cook, Sammy Virji, Ben UFO, Overmono, Sega Bodega, Mall Grab, 100 Gecs, DJ Seinfeld, Chloe Robinson, Umru, DJ ADHD, Baseck, UNIIQU3, Chippy Nonstop, Food House (Fraxiom + Gupi) and Jedwill and on events by promoters Noise Pop, Fake and Gay, Squish, Vitamin1000, He.She.They., and AYLI.
