Villager is a project from prodigious DMV-based producer Alex Young, permeating the globe since its inception, with support from Four Tet, Jamie XX, Bonobo, Floating Points, A-Trak, Jacques Greene, Salute, Bicep, and with five EP releases on label imprints via Boys Noize and Chloe Robinson. Now 27, at age 15 Alex Young was performing at EDC and touring with Skrillex, Diplo, and Cashmere Cat under the previous project bearing his name. This year, Villager has supported Sammy Virji and Barry Can’t Swim and is now poised for a global tour run on the strength of his recent releases. In a print interview from 2022, Future Music Magazine described Villager’s sound as “taking cues from the richly textured electronica of artists like Four Tet and Jon Hopkins, repurposing club rhythms into detailed, emotive music that rewards closer listening.” Released February 16, 2024, Villager’s latest EP Sculptor exemplifies this and is a crowning achievement in his young but storied career. The response to the EP during the weekend of its release included over a dozen editorial playlists across DSPs, over 6,000 Spotify playlist adds, a top 20 Beatport chart position, and personal co-signs from Flying Lotus and A-Trak -- all signs that Villager has made an impact with this most recent project. Alex’s tracks, journey, and creative process have been chronicled by The Fader, BBC’s Maryanne Hobbs, Magnetic Magazine, Music Radar, Future Music, Mojo Magazine, and Willy Joy’s Back-To-Back Podcast. Villager is a vessel whose musical identity knows no bounds – see: writing and production credits on Halsey's double-platinum Manic, and more recently, a 24-track instrumental project Nowhere FM, produced over a couple weeks in 2023, which spans a range of styles and influences.
Their RA profile lists Boysnoize Records and Pretty Weird Records.

Heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan, their productions encapsulated sounds that were inspired by the UK and Detroit, and were complimented with live spoken word. After moving to Berlin in 2016, they transitioned from performance art to DJing, where their sets on HÖR facilitated their breakthrough as a DJ. Having drawn inspiration from early industrial and techno pioneers, x3butterfly’s sets retain a raw and ominous quality, with a club twist. Prioritizing the eclectic, they often aim to take listeners on a story-telling journey while simultaneously keeping them on the dance floor. Their sets combine jungle, drum and bass, R&B, dubstep, techno, and other world sounds at 140-160 BPM. x3butterfly has played in various clubs in Mexico, Germany, Denmark, Greece, as well as a multitude of cities in the US. They have quickly become a rising NYC star, DJing notorious NYC venues such as Bossa Nova, Mood Ring, and Nowadays. You can find their most recent production titled “Holy War Remix” on Rubby’s Pájaro Malo Remix EP on Spotify.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
VALENCIA, is a Colombian born, Brooklyn-based DJ fueled by an undying passion for all things dark, infectious and irresistibly groovy. Her journey kicked off the moment she stepped into her first techno show and witnessed just how energized a dance floor can truly get. From that night (..morning) on, she was in. Countless hours of dancing in warehouses and meticulously curating tracks later, VALENCIA now channels her deep connection with the music from inside the booth. Her sound is a mix of '90s underground vibes with a modern, 21st-century edge. Seamlessly blending nostalgic techno classics with modern day hard-hitting grooves, luring in both seasoned techno lovers and new listeners alike. Since moving to New York, VALENCIA’s love affair with the music has only intensified. In just a year, she’s graced the decks at venues like TBA, Club Eternal, Listen BK, Dead Letter No.9, Hellphone, and The End, while also playing exclusive pop-up events for Equinox and Padel Haus. This year she also launched SURREAL SESSIONS, her fast-rising party collective, dedicated to showcasing new talent to the Brooklyn scene. Simply put, VALENCIA doesn’t just live to dance - she thrives on making others move too. Catch her behind the decks, brining her unmistakable sound to a club near you.
