    their own biography

    the whole biography
Connie Yin has been a major contributor to New York City’s underground electronic scene for almost 20 years. With a deep fluid mix of forward thinking 4/4 styles and a defined rhythmic sensibility that flows from her alter egos as a thumping rock drummer and newbie bass player, Connie is a steady crowd favorite and an accomplished pro who always brings the goods. Whether it is as resident DJ for ReSolute, one of the world’s hottest itinerant underground parties, or on the road touring from Brazil to Dubai, Connie’s aptitude and vigorous devotion to her craft have earned her turns alongside a litany of techno’s best. Connie uses her own success to inspire others to enter the world of DJing. To date she has privately trained 15 students. Connie has been producing electronic music since 2009, under the ‘Constar’ moniker as well as Connie Yin, with a dozen releases available digitally and on vinyl, under labels such as Bedrock Records. Currently, she is producing with long time friend Karina Chaczabian as C&K, with recent vinyl releases; and J Gabriel, on various projects. Connie’s love for music spans beyond electronic music; for the last 20 years, Connie has always been involved with at least one band at all times. Current live music projects include songwriting and drumming with post punk band Jilted Lover; playing bass guitar with rock/punk band Bricklip; creating techno synthpop in synth & machine heavy band Chic Choc; and playing keyboards and drums in Bover Cand - an 80s cover band....and also making music videos, her newfound passion. Connie also enjoys romantic strolls on the beach, candlelit dinners, and cuddling.
Their RA profile lists Bedrock Records, Airdrop Records, NOSI Music, Jyre Records and 3 more.

Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly: Most freindship if feigning, most loving mere folly: Then heigh-ho, the holly! This life is most jolly. Freeze, freeze thou bitter sky, That does not bite so nigh As benefits forgot: Though thou the waters warp, Thy sting is not so sharp As a friend remembered not. Born in Istanbul, Turkey to musically inclined parents, Gio Gulez moved to New York in 2002 and in the past couple of years he has been the icing on the cake in the New York techno scene in such roles as a DJ, promoter and nightclub manager. Gio has played alongside the likes of DJ Three, Guido Schneider, Audiofly to name just a few and since 2005 he has been throwing and promoting some memorable parties in the East Village of New York. Music has always been a part of Gio’s life. He started playing guitar at the age of 14 and like many adolescent boys his age his impetus for picking up the guitar was to simply pick up girls. But as his love for music (and his pick-up skills) blossomed, music became an increasingly important part of his life in it of itself. He started playing the piano at the age of 16 and at the age of 20, Gio began taking opera voice lessons. While growing up, Gio was heavily influenced by such artists as Guns & Roses, Metallica, The Cure, Depeche Mode and New Order. At the age of 23, Gio played electronic music on the decks for the first time and his love of synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers was born. Gio started out playing classical house but as he started listening to such DJ’s as Richie Hawtin and Gaiser, his style of music shifted from classical house to minimal. Gio started producing tracks a few years ago and his style can be currently classified as Deep Tech and Groovy Instrumental Dubby Bass. He likes to take it slowly to ensure every beat resonates in the hearts of listeners and make people feel more gravity. Gio predicts that electronic music will have a bigger influence in all genres of music and that electronic music will become a more intellectual pursuit that will have an impact on all aspects of people’s lives not unlike hip hop 30 years ago. Stay tuned for upcoming gigs and releases from Gio Gulez.

“Exposed to music from day one, the guitar was first for Luka and it came from somewhere harder.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Exposed to music from day one, the guitar was first for Luka and it came from somewhere harder. Growing up in Belgrade under sanctions and bombs, music became his fantasy world for escaping reality. Spending weekend nights in his mid-twenties in Berlin’s scene while studying classical music and preparing concerts in Zurich, he discovered something in endless nights at Panorama Bar and rising collectives that a concert hall couldn’t offer: belonging, a space where community and music became one, where joy rose into a form of resistance and healing. „I‘m not a DJ, you mixed me up“, Luka turned down his first booking request. 2 months after that first show for Herrensauna in Zurich, Paragon NYC happened and he fell in love, even though it took him a while to call himself a DJ. Luka digs what moves and plays tight, blending overlooked records with modern productions until the decades between them disappear, moving from floating to physical, hypnotic to hard, shaped by years spent collaborating across dance, visual art and live electronics before touching a CDJ. The concert hall still shows up in how he plays: long phrasing, returning motifs, a build that teases before it breaks. tanzen6000 grew directly out of that experience and a need for unity: Zurich’s scene felt split into bubbles that rarely met, so he pitched an idea for a tiny venue: 4 DJs, completely different sounds. It sold out. The second edition doubled capacity. Today tanzen6000 is one of Zurich’s vital queer-led collectives with home-base at Kauz, where POC, trans, queer and FLINTA artists shine and amplify unity between communities. Selected past venues: Macadam (Nantes), Motel Campo (Geneva), Montreux Jazz Festival, Nachbar (Amsterdam), Bizarre Festival (Paris), Dalston Superstore (London), Garcon Sauvage (Lyon), sic (CDMX), Paragon (NYC), Podlasie (Chicago), Le Bain (NYC), Schwing & Stampf Festival, six dogs (Athens), Kauz (Zurich), Exil (Zurich), Circle Park (Brussels), Dolu (Sofia), Brutal MX (CDMX), Vago (Lisbon), Flower Factory (Washington D.C) Selected podcasts: Smut, Kiosk Radio, Rinse, IsBurning, Vitamine, Homodrop
