the whole biography
Brooklyn-based DJ Arianna Danae brings an unmistakable New York energy to the dance floor, shaped by her Armenian heritage and a lifelong curiosity for music. Guided by instinct rather than convention, she approaches every set with an ear for the unexpected, weaving together timeless records, forgotten gems, and fresh discoveries to create moments that feel both familiar and entirely new. Since emerging from Brooklyn’s underground scene in 2018, Arianna has built a reputation as a thoughtful selector and respected voice within the community. She found her first home at Jupiter Disco with her monthly Rebelle party, which laid the groundwork for her career in artist programming and event curation. From there, she became a resident at Flash in Washington, D.C., later expanding into booking and programming before joining the programming team at Elsewhere in Brooklyn. She is also a longtime resident of Laylit, the internationally celebrated party championing music and culture from North Africa, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia. Whether introducing audiences to an unexpected record or giving new life to a familiar classic, Arianna’s sets are driven by curiosity, connection, and a belief that the best dance floors are built through trust, taste, and musical discovery.Recently at Signal, Outer Heaven, Circle Line Cruises · often with Sean Sato, 444, Ramzi El Edlibi, none of them here that night

Armana Khan fuses her Desi roots with global rhythms. Her sets are not just music; they are cultural bridges, mixing tabla with techno and bhangra with afrobeat to bring the world together through sound. "Music is a universal language," says Armana. "It can teach us about one another and, perhaps, bring peace." Her mission is to turn dance floors into spaces of connection and harmony. World music for world peace is her vision and her vibe.Recently at 9 Bob Note, The Sultan Room, Nowadays · often with SRI, ARCHANGEL, Beaujangless, none of them here that night

Living in Brooklyn by way of Karachi, Pakistan, Dynoman is widely credited as an instrumental figure in the formation and development of the Karachi underground and Pakistan’s electronic music scene. He has been producing electronic music under the Dynoman moniker since 2009, and co-founded Forever South, Pakistan’s first internationally recognized digital label, in 2012. Over the years, his sound has evolved alongside his lived experience, remaining rhythm-forward, percussion-driven, and rooted in movement. After relocating to New York in 2017, Dynoman founded Rare Frequency Transmissions, which he continues to co-run. He is a frequent presence in the Brooklyn underground and self-releases much of his work through Dynoman Music, showcasing a wide breadth of styles and approaches. When stepping into the booth, his sets are shaped by the moment rather than pre-planning, often unfolding without a fixed trajectory as he responds to the energy of the space and the room. In 2023, Dynoman co-founded Tarka, a project celebrating diaspora through artistic practice. In recent years, his work has increasingly explored rhythm, repetition, and shared states through sound, with live performances and recordings reflecting a deep engagement with percussion-led, future-facing approaches grounded in South Asian lineage.Experimental on 1. styles on their catalogued releasesTheir RA profile lists Rare Frequency Transmissions.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, The Sultan Room · often with Zara Dekho, Bergsonist, Nabihah Iqbal, none of them here that night

the whole biography
Krithi is a Chennai-born, Brooklyn-based music producer, DJ, and music tech educator. With a distinct sonic signature marked by percussive intricacies and genre-blending innovation, Krithi has carved a unique space for herself in the contemporary music landscape. With roots in Jazz and Carnatic vocals, Krithi took an unexpected yet exciting turn in 2020 to create instrumental-only percussive rich music that provides a rhythmic escapade to captivate listeners. The boundaries between genres blur, and her beats tell stories of cultural intersections and sonic experimentation. Her self-released projects include “Padapadappu,” “Nilap-parappu” and “Uyirudan,” while she has also contributed to compilation projects by the newly launched label Bubblin’ (BB001) and UK-based collective Daytimers (DT001). When she's not cooking up beats, she works for Building Beats and We Make Noise NYC (fka Beats by Girlz NYC), two US-based organizations dedicated to making music technology more accessible for marginalized communities. She has also launched her own teaching project “kuttiBEATS” (“kutti” means child or little one in Tamil)—an online platform that allows kids and young adults to tap into their experience as digital natives and express their creativity through music tech.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Mood Ring, Rash · often with Sana, S7IK, Talk Shivi, none of them here that night

their own biography
the whole biography
MSNA is the co-founder of Laylit and member of Lebanese-Canadian electronic duo Wake Island. His mixes are a surprising marriage of his favorite pop music from SWANA and beyond with modern electronic sounds and beats. Through his work, he explores the ever-present dichotomy and contradictions of being an immigrant in North America, juggling values, taste and cultural belonging. This tension, he believes, can transcend the individual and turn into a collective experience on the dancefloor, one that unwaveringly looks ahead, while acknowledging the crucial role of history in shaping the future.Recently at Circle Line Cruises, Elsewhere · often with Fursa, ZNA, nar, none of them here that night

“One to watch.”
their own biography
the whole biography
One to watch. Already booked and busy on international stages, SAMIA is taking over one dancefloor at a time. Of Algerian heritage, born in England, raised in the creative capital of Montreal, and has spent her adult years living in Korea and Mexico, one of the first things you'll notice from a SAMIA set is how she seamlessly includes a variety of genres and cultures to make an explosive mix of ass-shaking sound. You can expect a flawless blend of edits, reggaeton, baile funk, shatta, kuduro, batida, amapiano, latin club, salsa and more. When SAMIA says her sets consist of global sounds, she means it. Not boxed in by music scenes, SAMIA is the founder of versatile Porqueria Party, in which she prioritizes queer, female and POC DJs and artists. She is also a resident of Diaspora, arguably the most important collective for global sounds in Mexico and has played for other notable collectives: Fino Club, Yeti Out, Discoño, WeGoingSound, Frikiton, Link Up Worldwide, etc. Her radio takeovers all over the world include Diplo's Revolution (US), Rinse France (FR), Portalls (UK), Shift Radio (CA), Drama Radio (MX) and regular appearances on Pegate (MX). Recent festival highlights include playing at Axe Ceremonia, on the same lineup as heavy weights like Kendrick Lamar and Peggy Gou, as well as playing at official opening and after parties for Igloofest and Fuego Fuego Festivals. SAMIA wrapped a mini Canada tour with Richtanner and Bastian Bell in 2024. She has shared the stage with Nina Sky, Jael, Haivai B, Andre Power, Dos Flakos, Changing Currents and more. Next up on Samia's radar is Igloofest in Montreal, Canada.Last at Elsewhere in Apr · often with Ushka, Zara Dekho, Tarka, none of them here that night

Saphe is a Syrian, New York-based DJ and curator and co-founder of Laylit, a monthly dance party and platform that brings together DJ sets and live instruments by artists from the MENA region and its diaspora. Approaching the dancefloor as a space of experimentation through which new forms of Arabic dance music can emerge, Saphe’s sets consist of highly percussive bass music, engaging with a variety of styles and practices from breakbeats, jungle & D&B, breaky techno, and his signature Arabic electronic beats.
