Especially inspired by vanguard music descended from jazz, funk, and soul, BEYBLADE SHAWTY's evocative, captivating, high-energy sets invite listeners on sonic journeys across spacetimes. Playfully irreverent lyrics, percussive basslines, breakbeats, and four-on-the-floor rhythms enchant audiences, transporting them to new worlds of free movement and self-expression. At once precisely methodical and deeply intuitive, BEYBLADE SHAWTY’s mixing practice is informed by the diverse musical backdrop that accompanied her upbringing. Subverting category, the DJ utilizes techniques spanning hip-hop, club, techno, bass, global house, and beyond, igniting auditory frequencies that co-create affective trust with her audience. BEYBLADE SHAWTY hosts The Baddie Hour, a NYC party series featuring local talent at some of the city’s most beloved venues.
