PURR spins a variety of diasporic dance music genres from nola bounce, bouyon, baile bass, afrobeats, amapiano; to gqom, dancehall, shatta, hip-hop/rap, jersey club, ukg, ghetto tech, jungle, juke, drum n bass and dubstep: activating the club’s potential as a site of release, embodiment and new dreams for being together. In the Black, Queer, and underground NYC nightlife circuit, PURR is a regular guest DJ at local haunts in Brooklyn and frequently headlines sold-out nights at top-tier venues such as SOB’s, Elsewhere, Xanadu, House of Yes & more. PURR’s finesse for nostalgic sounds alongside hyper-contemporary sonic cuts bends time to reveal the long-standing and ongoing history of Black club culture—preserving what's come before while seducing and challenging crowds with potential futures all on the dancefloor.Recently at Mood Ring, Rodeo, 9 Bob Note · often with Charmed, BEYBLADE SHAWTY, stargrl, none of them here that night
