His eclectic style of groovy underground minimal & house records creates a captivating and hypnotic vibe. Taking inspiration from the likes of the Romanian,UK, and NYC underground scenes, he has cultivated his own sound of underground house music. Spaced out, jazzy, minimal grooves is his style of choice, and he’s invested in expanding his knowledge base by continually creating and collecting music. A computer nerd at heart, Rupert's love for synthesizers and especially eurorack have helped shape the sound he pushes today. In November of 2022 Rupert launched his own record label, Selekt Sounds, which focuses on the hypnotic, psychedelic, and jazzy sides of minimal. Born in beats, raised on rhythm. ROLO's journey into music began as a teenage guitarist and vocalist fronting bands at 15. But it was behind the decks where he truly found his groove—sparked by Paul Oakenfold’s legendary Creamfields 2003 set. Since graduating from NYC’s Dubspot School of Music Production in 2015, ROLO has incorporated production craftsmanship with an instinct for unforgettable dance floor moments. His sound is a kinetic blend of hypnotic drum grooves, vocal-driven melodies, and raw underground energy—drawing inspiration from rhythm-driven deep house, Romanian minimal techno, and breakbeat textures. As a curator, event organizer, or back line provider, Stef Ozaru is a brand recognized as integral. As an artist, his sets are the embodiment of New York. Whether through digital or vinyl, Stef blends old and new tracks to create a unique soundscape across any genre he focuses on. As a DJ focused on genre-bending, he takes elements such as dissonance, left field, groove, and breaks to create a unique style that is unmistakably techno. Though techno is the main objective, he also loves to appear in Minimal/Deephouse line ups, as well as DnB and Jungle events.
