    the whole biography
Lily Ray started her career as a musician in the early 2000s as a rock drummer in popular San Francisco bands Two Seconds and Elephone. She performed at major festivals such as SXSW and BFD, and released albums on San Francisco labels Popsmear Records and Talking House Productions. After moving to New York in 2008, Lily has continued to perform in various indie rock bands while also finding opportunities to transition her music production into the electronic music community. This evolution ultimately led her towards learning how to DJ, a logical transition after a lifetime of creating and perfecting unique rhythms. She now brings her deep, dancey DJ sets to venues around New York City, including clubs such as The Panther Room, the Tribeca Grand, TBA Brooklyn, Bizarre, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and many underground parties. She also has a monthly residency at the popular East Village club, Keybar. Lily is currently experimenting with incorporating live electronic drumming into her productions. The great-grand-niece of the artist Man Ray, she is hugely inspired philosophy and way of life presented by the Dada movement, and channels this through all of her musical pursuits.
