the whole biography
Saqib is a creative force. A DJ’s DJ, a deep digger of musical gems, a producer of equally unique gems, and a community builder. First and foremost a guitarist, bass player and drummer who grew up in the world of rock and metal from a young age in Pakistan, Saqib is a producer whose tracks transcend genre, era, hype, and scene. They speak the language of dance. With close to a hundred releases over the past decade he has slowly created a sound unto himself and a devoted following. It is a sound that crosses boundaries between house, techno, indie dance, hip hop, Bollywood, Lahore, Brooklyn, Detroit and Berlin mixed with some secret sauce known only to the man himself. Moving to New York City to play shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world, Saqib has shared the decks and earned plays from artists like Danny Tenaglia, Jamie Jones, Adam Ten, Blond:ish, Adriatique, Mita Gami, Bedouin, Lee Burridge, Robag Wruhme and so many more. His records, released on labels including Abracadabra, Maccabi House, Kindisch, Flying Circus, Get Physical, Sol Selectas, and Echolette, reflect a spectrum of musical sensibility that can only be described as UNIQUE… earning him a spot as one of of 1001 Tracklists’ Top 100 Producers and a regular spot in the Beatport top 10 in multiple genres. During the pandemic Saqib became a resident artist of Blondish:ish’s Abracadabra releasing music, doing A+R, and hosting a weekly twitch stream created entirely on his own called “Love Jams” that started a devoted following around his sound. In 2022 he started his own label ‘Beats On Time’, a Brooklyn-based indie dance imprint uplifting local and international artists alike. Whether at Brooklyn Mirage, Knockdown Center, a rooftop or a dimly-lit basement, Saqib leads the floor with his unique sound. A unique one who marches to the beat of his own drum and we all dance with him.Their RA profile lists Get Physical Music, Flying Circus, Kindisch Records, Intimate Project Music and 4 more.Recently at Signal, 275 Park BK, Superior Ingredients · often with Sana, Taylor Bradford, Narasimha, none of them here that night
“In 2019, baby-g’s burning daydream of commanding her own dance floor left her no option but to take a chance.”

In 2019, baby-g’s burning daydream of commanding her own dance floor left her no option but to take a chance. Her story blends an obsession with eclectic sounds, a previous life as a trained dancer, and desire to connect. In her music, a story of determination and scratching away can be heard - it’s music that hits the spot. Today, she’s tucked into the depths of Brooklyn’s underground spaces, opening for the likes of Sammy Legs, Tony Romera, Crusy, and Daniel Neuland, co-created the enigmatic DJ collective Liminal, and delved into production, with a few demo tracks in the works. baby-g has not only carved her own niche in respected spots like the Onyx room, Elsewhere, and Silo, but her efforts also continue to strengthen the local scene through collaborations or mentoring aspiring DJs. While some DJs offer escapism, baby-g’s music is for the here and now. With her confident, smooth brushes of groove, throbbing patterns of rhythm mixed with sassy vocals, her music demands attention. baby-g sways between a mix of styles such as minimal, peak time/driving, indie dance, and ketapop, but she is consistent in holding mood. A mood that carries unmistakable coolness, yet an inviting social experience to connect, bounce, and jam together. It seems that as long as baby-g keeps dreaming, the rhythm of her journey is equally worth moving along to, just as much as her dance floors.Recently at Crossroads Cafe, The Onyx Room at House of Yes, BK.Warehouse · often with Chillosophy, ACIDMOM, Zombi Adam, none of them here that night
