American DJ and producer Kim Anh has been a staple of the queer dance music underground for two decades. She has gone on to make an indelible impact on the nightlife scenes she's been a part of in Los Angeles and New York, where she currently splits her time between NYC and the Hudson Valley. The founder of groundbreaking queer parties like Booby Trap! and Tendencies, Kim Anh helped underline the queer and POC history of dance music, bringing it back to its roots. Her production and songwriting blends classic house and electronic with a contemporary sensibility, with catchy hooks and edgy, sensual lyrics, described by DJ Mag as "lucid and absorbing, and conveying an assertion and power." She’s been a top 10 Beatport artist with features in Mix Mag (UK & Asia), DJ Mag, Resident Advisor and LA Weekly to name a few. More recently, Kim Anh started her own Can U Not Talk Records label, and has also been featured on labels like Live At Robert Johnson, Afro Acid and Nervous Records. She's collaborated with artists from across the electronic music spectrum such as Roy Davis. their own biography
the whole biography
Serrian has been enmeshed in NYC nightlife since she was a teen - beginning as a promoter, finding her way to DJing and now also a talent buyer and curator. She has opened up for the likes of Phil Weeks, Museum of Love (DFA), and Russell E.L. Butler. She has played at notable venues in NYC such as Good Room, Elsewhere, Bossa Nova Civic Club, TBA, H0L0 and more. Some of her favorite gigs have been queer parties outside of New York, such as here&there (ATL) and Ladies on Wax (Philly), dance to forget (San Juan), and Bless This Mess (Chicago). Serrian can be heard playing classic house, acid house, techno, electro, new wave and cosmic/nu disco. Her variety of styles can be attributed to her booking background as she has operated as a promoter for fifteen years: supporting labels, parties, and collectives that mold and innovate the fabric of NYC nightlife. Her style is eclectic, emotive, and upbeat - she crafts a story, bringing nuance and surprises to every set.Recently at Jupiter Disco, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Earthly Delights · often with Dio Garcia, Aria Pash, Ben Zo, none of them here that night
