Juan MacLean is a Brooklyn based DJ and producer who has been a mainstay and defining fixture of the New York cub scene, as well as maintaining a rigorous international touring schedule, since the release of his first records on his DFA record label in 2002. While maintaining residencies in various New York clubs over the years, Juan has graced the decks at legendary venues like Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Tokyo’s Womb, Lisbon’s Luxe, Fabric of London, and countless others in between. He quickly established a reputation as an eclectic and adaptive DJ, utilizing years of music making and performance experience to develop a finely tuned sensitivity to quality selection and reading a room. Never much of a genre purist, Juan’s sets can feature the gamut from Disco to House to Techno, with detours into Electro or proto-House along the way, often in the same night. He has also produced an extensive catalog of 12”s and LP’s, mostly for the record label established by his old friend James Murphy, DFA Records, including the seminal dance floor hit ‘Happy House,’ first released in 2009. In 2010 Juan was recruited to contribute a mix for the legendary DJ Kick’s series, helping to spread House music to a wider audience on the cusp of the resurgence of House as a world wide phenomenon. Juan has also released on Classic Music Company and New York City’s Let’s Play House, as well as Get Physical, Defected, and Razor N Tape, Cin Cin, Audiophile Deep, and MeMeMe. For 2020, Juan has already slotted in releases on Correspondant, Motordiscs, and Aus Records. Currently, Juan is finishing production on his 4th LP, slated for release on DFA Records.Their RA profile lists Classic, Get Physical Music, !K7, DFA Records and 6 more.Recently at Good Room, Circle Line Cruises, Locust Grove · often with Gee Dee, Infinity Machine, Kate Stein, none of them here that night
“Bio Few DJs could adequately represent the last three decades of New York nightclub history - no less do so with such iconic credentials as Justin Strauss.”

Bio Few DJs could adequately represent the last three decades of New York nightclub history - no less do so with such iconic credentials as Justin Strauss. Since he was 17, when his first band was signed to Island Records, Justin has had a career that reads like a Who’s-Who of the music scene, spinning at nearly every dance club that you’d ever want to go to. Starting as DJ at New York’s legendary Mudd Club, he spun his way through The Ritz, Limelight, Area, Tunnel, M.K., Life, Centro Fly and more, pioneering his own distinctive sound, and becoming one of the most sought-after remixers and producers not just in New York, but in the world. He has worked with the gamut of artists - Depeche Mode, Sergio Mendez, Tina Turner, Jimmy Cliff, B-52s, Luther Vandross, Malcolm McClaren, Skinny Puppy, Goldfrapp, to name a few (see full list) – and on over 200 records! Much of the new dance crowd that goes to hear Justin DJ today, whether at subMercer, The Standard, Highbar, Soho House, or Love, doesn’t necessarily know his history; they simply love his spinning because he always keeps them dancing and surprised, seamlessly mixing between choice classics, delectable rarities and innovative beats. For Justin, no genre or style is off-limits – he can and will mix anything, so long as he can keep the crowd enthralled. His self-proclaimed mission is “connecting the dots” between what might otherwise seem disparate musical periods and styles, while introducing exciting new sounds. He does so with infectious passion, subverting preconceptions about what’s old and new, and inspiring young DJs with his masterful skill and ever-youthful spirit. But Justin Strauss doesn’t stop there. As half of the production duo, Whatever/Whatever, he continues to produce and mix records, working on remixes for the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Beyonce, La Roux and more. In fact, he doesn’t stop at all. Like the amazing city he’s dedicatedly kept dancing since 1980, Justin just keeps going. Coming Soon. a/jus/ted . “Loren Berrier is the consummate DJ.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Loren Berrier is the consummate DJ. Growing up as a classically trained singer, he studied music his whole life, while immersing himself in the modern sounds of the 80s and 90s. Through his early teens, during the rise of electronic music he found new influence in the earliest big DJs. At 15, he bought his first turntables and has never looked back. In 2004, he began composing, producing and performing music with his good friend as Radioactive Sandwich, releasing 7 studio albums and remixing artists such as DJ Rap, Simon Collins, Angelique Kidjo, and many others, while headlining alternative music festivals in the US and Canada. His passion for music never stopped, and at 19 he began his industry career working with some of the most recognizable Hip Hop labels, including Bad Boy Records and Cash Money Records. He was then recruited as part of a small team that brought the legendary Ministry of Sound in North America, where he managed not only the main label namesake but the immensely popular Hed Kandi and iconic Global Underground, overseeing all label management and growing an event business from the ground up to over 120 events per year across the continent. Now based in Brooklyn since 2019, Loren has brought his incredibly diverse sounds to clubs such as TBA, Keybar, Lillistar, Creatures of all Kind, LoHi, Mika, Nicky’s Unisex, East Hae, and co-founded the growing event series Mobile Output, helping to produce a free monthly event series that redefines what dance music events can be.Their RA profile lists Ministry Of Sound.Recently at KEYBAR, LoHi · often with Mona Matsuoka, Balam, Andrey Trofimov, none of them here that night
“For the past decade, My Dude has been shaping a sound that’s hard to pin down.”
their own biography
the whole biography
For the past decade, My Dude has been shaping a sound that’s hard to pin down. Somewhere between synth-punk grit and psychedelic groove, with detours into whatever else feels right in the moment. His sets wander through the weird, the dark, and the joyful, always stitched together with a sense of play. More than just a selector, My Dude is that friend who can talk to anyone about any record, chasing connections across genres and generations. Behind the decks, that same spirit comes alive; music as a meeting point, a reason to dance together, to get a little playful, to let go. His journey has already taken him from underground crews like Mobile Output (NYC) and Sine Language (CT) to festival stages at Fractal Fest (MA), as well as opening two nights for jam-electronic pioneers The Disco Biscuits. Along the way he’s connected with communities through Rendezvu Presents (RI), 1100 @ The Reliquarium (RI), Lovestruck (MA), DiscoTech (RI), The Ooze (MA), and Subflex (MA). Each set is another chance to stretch across scenes and bring dancers into unexpected spaces. With a debut EP ready to find its label home and more music in the works, My Dude is opening the next chapter of a journey that’s never been about sticking to one lane. Expect the unexpected, but expect it to move you.Recently at Dead Letter No. 9 · often with Chris Surot, DJ Wordy, Ryan Varjas, none of them here that night
