Jeffrey Sfire is originally from suburban Detroit, where he was introduced to underground dance music and illegal warehouse parties as a teenager in the 90's. This escape from suburbia led him to the dancefloors of the city’s most talented DJs and musicians, who soon exposed him to a new culture of creative riches. Learning by example, Sfire’s taste and skills as a DJ developed naturally and he soon began playing out at parties, clubs and sleazy gay afterhours, entering covertly through back doors or with a fake ID. At the age of 18, a move to Chicago led Sfire to a whole other side of dance music history, including the Italo Disco and High Energy sounds of the 1980s. He spent afternoons digging through record store crates, meeting retired DJs and developing his musical palette. Jeffrey’s style is absolutely unique and clearly tied to the roots of his midwest upbringing and he can be found working the floor out with italo, high nrg, chicago house, and everything WBMX. Having held numerous club residencies, he regularly plays in LA, Detroit, Chicago, and New York, consistently offering a finely-tuned selection at clubs like Basement and Nowadays in NY, Panoramabar Berlin, and Hot Mass in Pittsburgh. He also has a hand in producing parties such as Detroit's infamous Movement weekend queer rager, Club Toilet, and collaborating with Justin Cudmore on a new monthly Sunday party at Signal (NY). Jeffrey is also a gifted producer and one half of production projects: Sfire (with Sophie), Looky Looky, and Pushing Movies with releases on labels such as Dark Entries, Cocktail D’Amore Music and Ultramajic, while his mixes have long been prized for their depth and quality and are often featured as RA mix of the day.House on 6, Deep House on 4, Synth-pop on 4 and New Wave on 3. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on CockTail d'Amore Music (1), HMRecords (1) and The Brvtalist (1); their RA profile also lists Ultramajic. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at BASEMENT, Signal, Under the K Bridge · often with Mike Servito, Justin Cudmore, Sterling Juan Diaz, none of them here that night
“Ben Zo has brought his acid-infused, harmonic mixing to vastly-different venues throughout Brooklyn including H0L0, Mansions, SILO, Trans-Pecos and Xanadu; and for every conceivable set time, whether it's sunset at Fourth World, New Year's Eve all-night-long at Happyfun Hideaway, or opening as well as closing Bossa Nova Civic Club, Jupiter Disco and Mood Ring, among other local cornerstones.”

Ben Zo has brought his acid-infused, harmonic mixing to vastly-different venues throughout Brooklyn including H0L0, Mansions, SILO, Trans-Pecos and Xanadu; and for every conceivable set time, whether it's sunset at Fourth World, New Year's Eve all-night-long at Happyfun Hideaway, or opening as well as closing Bossa Nova Civic Club, Jupiter Disco and Mood Ring, among other local cornerstones. A versatile selector with a filmmaking background, his consistently cosmic palette largely encompasses heady house and celestial techno, under the heavy influence of Italo, IDM, trance and other melodic samples. Blending the familiar and esoteric in search of vistas that evoke the natural world, he crafts uniquely psychedelic moments that echo long after in thought. He is the organizer of BUSH DÜF, a Bushwick-based party focused on 'cosmic, colorful and cathartic' techno. His guest mixes have been aired by other stations in New York such as 8 Ball Radio and Newtown Radio (of which he is a former resident), and around the world including Internet Public Radio, London's Subtle Radio, Athens' Fade Radio, Bangkok Community Radio and a three-hour mix for Manila Community Radio.Recently at Jupiter Disco, Anything, Beverly's NYC · often with cruz ctrl, STEEN, DrToof, none of them here that night
