A devotee of the late-night-into-early-morning-into-late-afternoon party, Kristen gravitates toward genre-expansive DJs who take their dancers on long, world-bending journeys through all shades of music (not just electronic). Outside of DJing, Kristen is deeply immersed in NYC’s live music scene, a passion that heavily informs her sets. While her selections are steeped in traditional and modern jazz influences, she loves to weave in elements of commercial/hyperpop, future garage, funk, and classic house—building her sets more around “vibes” than around certain genres. If she’s not behind the decks, she will 100% be dancing. Szobi was introduced to dance music at a time when French house, electro house and garage were filling the clubs in his hometown Budapest, Hungary in the late 2000’s. It quickly became clear that dancefloors are his happy place — it's his goal is to create this for others when he’s on the decks. After moving to NYC, he jumped into the local dance scene, with emphasis on anything with some thick synths. He started the event Dancing in Socks in his studio apartment to bring friends together and create a space to perform. Since then, he's had the opportunity to perform at many iconic NYC locations, including Jupiter Disco, Elsewhere and Cafe Kitsune.Recently at Elsewhere, Earthly Delights, Jupiter Disco · often with Steelyphil, Dancing In Socks, jOrrell, none of them here that night
