    their own biography

    the whole biography
Ayesha is a key player in Brooklyn's dance music scene, and has become one of NYC's most prominent names when it comes to faster, more-bass heavy sounds in New York. Her approach to DJing and production blends elements of America's techno underground with leftfield UK sounds and diasporic influences from her Indian heritage, moving across tempos and rhythms with ease. Her music, hypnotic, pulsating and powerful, is as at home at a deep forest festival as it is a sweaty basement or dark nightclub, made with meticulous sound design, spongy textures and alien melodies. She writes tracks with deliberate consideration for how bodies move—and how music moves bodies—which makes her work unusually tactile and physical. "Beautiful things emerge from our care and consistent attention," she says about her work, which she also calls "body over mind." Everyone else calls it brilliant. She's put out music on Scuffed Recordings and Kindergarten Records, the latter of whom released her debut album, Rhythm is Memory, in 2022. DJ Mag called it "a revelation," Resident Advisor a "fierce mission statement" and Mixmag placed her at number two in its list of the 25 Producers Who Defined 2023. Later this year, she'll make her live set debut at MUTEK Festival in Montreal, hinting at an exciting new chapter for a dynamic force in American dance music.
Their RA profile lists Fever AM, Scuffed Recordings, Femme Culture, Control Freak Records and 2 more.

“Since 2012, Marco Gomez has held court in the American underground of electronic music as FALSE WITNESS, a moniker forged from a globally-minded understanding of club music.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Since 2012, Marco Gomez has held court in the American underground of electronic music as FALSE WITNESS, a moniker forged from a globally-minded understanding of club music. Alongside the #KUNQ artist collective, they pushed the boundaries of politics, social justice and nightlife and championed the original queer sound that underlined deconstructed club music emerging from New York City. As a resident of the fabled GHE20G0TH1K nights, False Witness pivoted their sound into the aggressive-meets-euphoric take on Techno that they are known for today. Growing into their own artistry alongside other major talents like LSDXOXO and Juliana Huxtable, FALSE WITNESS diverged from the standard dance music route in 2017 to pursue a Masters degree in contemporary art and sound performance. By the end of the decade, they were spearheading their own event series "In The Dark" at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn, fueling demand for the up and coming artist to tour across Europe, Australia, and Asia. In 2019, their presence as a leftfield Techno producer was truly felt around the world with their first vinyl release, "Red Curtain Daybreak'' on E-Missions Recordings. Accolades from Mixmag, Groove Magazine, and other outlets poured in, praising the record’s abrasive, raw, no-holding-back approach. This period marked a major transition point upon their arrival to Berlin. From their performances at Herrensauna, Lab Dance at Berghain, Spielraum in Amsterdam, Bulto in Bogota and other major queer worldwide events came the birth of JUNIOR M. Combining classic NYC and Chicago House with Berlin’s embrace of Italo Disco and EBM, Junior M reflects Gomez’s ever expanding musical palette and skill as a producer and DJ. Junior M (the M stands for Machine) has since taken over as the main DJ and production moniker for the artist for 2024 and beyond. Although the Junior M title as a music production outfit stands firmly under the House genre umbrella, their DJ sets weave meticulously between various genres, displaying not just versatility but a true love for dance music. In addition to their own productions, they are also the official label manager of E-Missions Recordings, a boutique House & Techno music label founded in 2017 by artists P.Leone and Caiazzo in South Brooklyn & Queens, NY. They are officially based in Berlin, Germany.
Their RA profile lists Lobster Theremin, Jack Dept, E-Missions, Whirlwind Trax and 1 more.

  • Patrick Russell

“Patrick Russell is a true veteran of the US underground, perhaps one of the last unsung heroes of a now lost era in the Midwest.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Patrick Russell is a true veteran of the US underground, perhaps one of the last unsung heroes of a now lost era in the Midwest. A genuine sonic storyteller, he magically transforms the diaspora of acid, pure jack energy, and hints of IDM into a deep, fluent sonic dialog that never fails to devastate both minds and dance floor. A Detroit-bred DJ, artist, and producer active since the early 90's, Patrick has now made New York City his home. Perhaps best known as a key figure in the legendary No Way Back parties, his ability to weave intensely unique, long-format narratives has earned him critical acclaim and repeat performances at Japan’s Labyrinth festival, Berghain, Unsound, and DEMF/Movement. Patrick has also been steadily building a strong catalog of high-profile productions to compliment his increasingly varied, hypnotic, and in-demand DJ sets; his recent 3-track remix EP on The Bunker New York also marks his induction as an official resident DJ at the long-running Brooklyn party. His consummate taste and disciplined execution have created a respect that cannot be purchased. Patrick Russell is not just a name to watch, he is someone to be experienced.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Lauren Flax has been a lifelong musician, starting to play the drums at 8 years old before continuing on to guitar and bass in high school. She began her DJ career in the underground dance and rave scenes of Detroit as a resident at the Motor Lounge, playing every Tuesday night along with resident DJs Mike Servito, DJ Dilemma, Jason Kendig, and Derek Plaslaiko. Flax played the very first Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 on the Motor stage. While originally starting off as a jungle DJ, Flax evolved her style into a variety techno, house, and electro music. Flax moved to Chicago in 1999, where she honed in on music production while continuing to DJ. By 2002, she relocated again to Manhattan, which shortly followed the release of her first remix, "Much Finer" for Le Tigre. In 2018, Flax was introduced to DJ Haus by fellow Detroit musician and friend Jimmy Edgar, to which he quickly signed a record, resulting in "Dance Trax Vol. 16" (2018). In 2019, Flax joined the mostly Detroit-born New York collective The Bunker New York,[1] on which she released "One Man’s House is Another Woman’s Techno EP" (2019). The EP was highly successful and sold out quickly. Flax met with Brooklyn-based record label 2MR in 2019, curious to explore beyond the realm of dance music. She remixed 'Breathe' by label-mate Pale Blue, and that ended up inspiring Flax's new style of music. After the remix was released, Flax took to writing a 6 track EP, merging genres of ambient, acid house, and much more, set to come out in Summer 2021. Flax started touring the United States and Europe as a solo artist in 2019, performing live analog sets, pushing the boundaries of what a DJ is defined as.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Brendan M Gillen is the founder of cult label Interdimensional Transmissions, central figure in Ectomorph, and legendary DJ and live act under his moniker BMG. His 25 year musical vision and near encyclopedic musical knowledge have led him to be one of the key figures and visionaries in contemporary dance music. His parties (most famously but not limited to No Way Back) are the greatest contemporary manifestation of the Detroit party continuum that reaches back to the parties of Plastikman, the Music Institute, Voom, and beyond. A master weaver of true psychedelic musical tapestry, BMG has a way of making the strange familiar and the familiar strange. Expect the unexpected.
Their RA profile lists Interdimensional Transmissions and Eye Teeth.
