the whole biography
Kimby is a longtime New York City resident and former partygoer, now emerging from her cocoon to dive back into nightlife as a late-blooming vinyl DJ. Her sound is eclectic and ever-evolving as she comes into her own—weaving together Balearic, synth-pop, disco, Hi-NRG, house, freestyle, and vintage Mandopop. Born in LA, raised in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and shaped by the in-between, she celebrates the collision of cultures through music, blending sounds from her roots with the world beyond. Since late 2024, Kimby has been building her reputation and honing her craft. She is now a regular at vinyl-focused venues in New York and has also made appearances at like-minded spaces in London, Barcelona, Hong Kong, and cities across Taiwan—with two recent NTS Radio features further cementing her presence. She has played at: Mad Records Lab, New York, US Moondog HiFi, New York, US Mr. Melo, New York, US Studio 151, New York, US Night Club 101, New York, US Bar Orai, New York, US Suono, New York, US Bar Meridian, New York, US Agency of Record, New York, US N'Between, New York, US Wallflower, New York, US Here Bk, New York, US Lullaby, New York, US Laziza, New York, US 929, New York, US Ants Coffee, New York, US Experimental Cocktail Club, New York, US Rodeo/CWW Radio Shop, New York, US The Last Call, New York, US Mood Ring, New York, US Lo-Res Bar, New York, US Wonderville, New York, US Radio Star, New York, US Spiritland, London, UK Cafe 1001, London, UK Veridis Quo, Barcelona, ES Quest, Taipei, TW Toha Radio, Taipei, TW 23 Music Room, Taipei, TW Chao Bar & Record Store, Taipei, TW Bar Echo, Taipei, TW LayLow, Taichung, TW 23 Music Lab, Kaohsiung, TW Oh Room, Tainan, TW AER (Aesthetic Radio), Hong KongRecently at Moondog Hifi, Mood Ring · often with Galgentanz, Upzet, Eleou, none of them here that night
