"It's D's World, we're just living in it" - Guy reading my iPhone notes on the M Train Longtime dancefloor staple Dan Creahan has been a quiet but vital energy in New York's thriving late-night scene, promoting and running door as energetically as he throws down on the floor. As a producer, he's often sought to explore the range around the center of the floor, working behind a number of pen names that have settled in recent years around around Alien D, a coy reworking of his first name, and the most direct outlet for his productions. Having previously released tapes with Mind Dynamics, a driving, frenetic project that pushed noise sensibilities and an improv-first focus on dance music stylings, Creahan worked through a range of concepts and monikers before releasing his first record as Alien D in 2018. Building sonic worlds around shared concepts and studio workflows, he rarely sits in one place for too long, exploring ever-shifting sonic palettes that have branched out from his initial formula of loose break tracks, tinged with elements of house and dub and into a range of sources, from spaced-out B12 tributes to tracks nodding towards the heyday of West Coast rave and downtempo. Bringing the same energy he's honed as a label head and promoter to his studio practice, the horizon looks bright for this Alien, gleaming out into the depths of space, where new worlds await <3House on 9, Techno on 9, Downtempo on 6 and Experimental on 4. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Kulture Galerie (2), Honey Trap (1) and Theory Therapy (1); their RA profile also lists Sweat Equity NYC and Twin System. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at public records, Good Room, Eavesdrop · often with No Sir, Andrew Devlin, Yibing, none of them here that night

PlayPlay combines their penchant for percussion and bass with nostalgic samples & dreamy synths in both their DJ sets & music production. Their sound is inspired by over two decades of raving, crate digging and the sounds they grew up dancing to - 90s club anthems, jungle and DnB, minimal wave, classic house, techno and old school hip-hop. They have played at venues such as Good Room, Elsewhere, Jupiter Disco, MOMA PS1, and Bossa Nova Civic Club and at festivals such as Brooklyn Mag Festival. Over the past decade, they've had the privilege of playing alongside artists such as Big Freedia, TT the Artist, Le1f, Quest?onmarc, MikeQ, GRRL, UNIIQU3, Jubilee and Bored Lord, releasing guest mixes on The Lot Radio, Rinse FM, WIDE Radio, JEROME Worldwide and more. With releases out on labels such as Clasico Records, Sorry Records, Worst Behavior and Delusional Records, as well as a slew of self-releases and collaborations, PlayPlay has been slowly and steadily amassing a thumping discography over the years. Their music has been featured on radio programs such as BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Rinse FM and the Lot Radio and can be heard in underground clubs around the world (some of which they're probably dancing in). PlayPlay also loves to collaborate, remixing music from artists such as Bored Lord and Big Dipper and and has had their music remixed by Suzi Analogue, Jasmine Infiniti, Bored Lord, James Bangura, Scottie B, Escaflowne and more. PlayPlay and fellow queer southern producer C Powers have released their collaborative, slow cooked breakbeat EP Breaking Capacity under the moniker PowerPlay on Sorry Records. They currently host two parties: Breaking Capacity, a quarterly party dedicated to all things breaks, and Satisfaction of What’s to Come, a quarterly party celebrating the many iterations of house music.House on 8, Techno on 6, Breaks on 6 and Breakbeat on 5. styles on their catalogued releasesReleased on Clasico Records (2) (1), Delusional Records (2) (1) and No Bias (1); their RA profile also lists Sorry Records, FPE Records and Worst Behavior Recs. labels on their catalogued releases and on their RA profileRecently at Animal, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Boyfriend co-op · often with Janus Rose, MF BUTCH, Lychee, none of them here that night
