“Romania has quite an extensive history with minimal tech-house.”

Romania has quite an extensive history with minimal tech-house. The various waves of talent to bust out of the country have something in common: they were all masters of form and function. One of the latest additions to this great legacy is Mihai Pol. Now he is stepping out into the spotlight. Mihai Pol burst onto the scene in 2016 with "Goneta" through Capodopere, a EP, which stood out for its lightness and striking uniqueness. His discography has evolved at a pace all its own. No two 12-inch records sound the same - from the sputtering acid of "Synkop" to the dreamy, rolling house textures of "Tango". Following his work as a producer, Mihai works equally on the mind and the body in his role as DJ; this requires true artistry to pull on the hearts and move the legs in rhythm at the same time. "I like to make people dance and feel good, but I also try to tell a story, so it's something in between," says Mihai. Fast forward to the present and we see him traveling the world's underground venues and festivals, with pit stops on every continent.Their RA profile lists Satya, Pineapple Express Records, Yecad Music, Bohrium Records and 1 more.Last at Apollo Studio in Sep 2025 · often with RAAUL, Armii1n, The Alley, none of them here that night

ọba+flip is a DJ duo based in Brooklyn, New York. They met at an underground techno party in 2017—a connection that blossomed into a partnership in love and music. They’ve been playing together since 2020, turning what began as a shared hobby into a powerful way to express their deep affection for music and commitment to each other. “ọba” means “king” in Yoruba, the first language of ọba’s mother, while “flip” nods to the flip phone she still carried when they met—as well as their shared desire to “flip things up.” Together, they merge their unique lived experiences to provide uplifting, hard-driving sounds with space and groove. Their craft is a testament to their adaptability, effortlessly matching and elevating the energy of the room with a range of house, techno, and everything in between.
