A communal hub that used to exist in her home city, the space was designed for music lovers to come together to play, listen and talk, as well as collaborate on private events that are influenced by David Mancuso's infamous Loft parties. That Loft manifesto feeds into the sounds in her own DJ sets too, whether in the booth or on the waves. From infectious Chicago house to uplifting 80s cuts and warm, soulful grooves; the mood transports you back to the heydays where dance floors were becoming spaces for freedom, self-expression and connection. It's music to bring people together, music to get you moving, and music to lose yourself in. Now a globe-trotting DJ, Ijó has brought her unique sound to venues such as Nowadays, Smartbar, and Spot Lite Detroit in North America. In Asia, she has graced the stages of the Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand and Potato Head in Bali. Her music resonates in prestigious European venues like Panorama Bar, De School, Lux Fragíl, Kaiku, and at Dekmantel Festival, where she frequently performs. Despite a hectic schedule, Ijó's club sets are marked by intentionality and focus, creating a unique atmosphere for each space and night. To her, "House" is a feeling, an ambience, not just a BPM range. Her approach transforms club nights into collective, bodily, and spiritual experiences crafted by everyone involved. Ijó is also frequently sought after for her curatorial skills, recently curating stages at Dekmantel Festival (Connects Stage), Wilde Weide Festival, and producing podcasts for United Identities. While her live performances are highly anticipated, Ijó also shares her musical journey through numerous radio shows on NTS, The Lot Radio, and the Dekmantel Podcast series, allowing listeners to experience her distinctive style anytime. words by Jamila Woodley & Rosie Cain

Born in Ohio and raised by New York clubs, Cosmo is a shining modern representative of the city’s Golden Age of DJing, in skill, in spirit, and in sensibility. A forever student of 90s subcultures, Cosmo is now an authority in connecting those dots, decompartmentalizing genres during her sets and revitalizing the club as a much needed space for expression and joy. Cosmo may open a night with her early entry points to dance music, gospel and funk and vocal-heavy RnB, and proceed to blend break beats with new jack swing or old-school house with tribal—all delivered with remarkable clarity of voice and a sense of self that fueled her fated teenage move to New York to DJ over a decade ago. Being from the Midwest, her house music literacy circles its epicenters and favors groovy records, warm basslines, playful vocals, and elating instrumentals that stir the spirit. Her deep knowledge, cultural curiosity, and refreshing authenticity make Cosmo one of New York’s most in-demand DJs, a regular at the most iconic clubs and a Fashion Week party go-to. She is a resident at Public Records, where she can explore every inch of her collection and join forces with legends like Sandy Rivera as well as other torchbearing peers. She’s represented the city sharing the decks with her heroes like Honey Dijon and Mike Dunn, and on esteemed platforms such as Benji B’s BBC Radio 1 show and Luke Solomon’s Classic Music Company show. As a longtime resident at The Lot Radio, Cosmo gets the opportunity to share everything she cherishes and often includes parts of her CD and magazine archives. Music has soundtracked Cosmo’s every move. Her gratitude for her practice is apparent, and her effervescence behind the decks reaches the crowd no matter the size of the room—a musical hug that holds dancers through times good and bad.

“Second Contact is a New York City–based DJ and collaborator whose driving force behind the decks feels like seduction through control.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Second Contact is a New York City–based DJ and collaborator whose driving force behind the decks feels like seduction through control. His practice lives in the charged space between discipline and abandon, shaped by a shared dialogue and individual instinct. Moving fluidly between downtempo, dark wave, EBM, and progressive trance, his sets unfold in long, deliberate arcs that privilege tension, texture, and trust. Rather than overwhelm a room, Second Contact cultivates atmosphere. His selections linger, tease, and breathe, inviting dancers inward while leaving space for unpredictability. This same sensibility extends beyond the decks, ruled by a deep desire to cultivate community, draw inspiration from the unlikeliest of places, and build something from nothing through exchange rather than ego. His approach favors intimacy over spectacle and curiosity over dominance; his DJ sets result in a physical, quietly sinister, and visceral atmosphere designed not to command attention but to hold space and engage in play. Stepping away from any spectacle, Second Contact plays with the uninhibited, open-minded queerdos and freaks; an intimate tremble that demands total surrender from those who’d rather be lost in the secret than found in the light. Second Contact believes the most powerful moments on a dance floor come from anticipation. His approach is rooted in restraint, timing, and emotional intelligence, letting desire accumulate before release. His sets ask for patience and, in turn, reward surrender; slowly, but surely, creating spaces where dancers feel held, challenged, and quietly undone. Over the past few years, Second Contact has become a familiar presence in New York City’s most respected rooms, including Nowadays, Mansions, Nightmoves, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and Good Room. Internationally, his sound has carried to adventurous and discerning dance floors across Europe and beyond, including Sameheads, Salon des Amateurs, Post Bar, as well as scenes in Tbilisi, Georgia and Mexico City, where he operates in the high-stakes gap between discipline and abandon for the those who celebrate openness and risk and welcome the pursuit of creativity and expression instead of the easily digestible and familiar. As Honey Trap mainstay and resident, he shapes the cadence with a patient hand whether setting the tone at the opening doors or driving the final hours at close. His sound at Honey Trap leans into the series’ core–synth lust, hot tracks–bringing the dancefloor into a place of shared trust and communal rapture. Second Contact’s long-form sensibility extends naturally into radio with his guest mixes appearing on well-regarded The Lot Radio, Kiosk Radio, and Mutant Radio.
