Brooklyn selector Coyado builds heat from the ground up—heavy dub pressure, Latin percussion, and club constructions designed for bodies in motion. His sets move with intention, layering the low-end rumble of soundsystem culture against the polyrhythmic snap of dembow and cumbia, finding pockets where Caribbean bassweight and New York grit lock into the same groove. Coming up through the city’s underground circuit—each set is another chance to test how far the fusion can stretch without losing its center of gravity.

Born and raised in Queens, a city dweller and a club kid, Kilopatrah has an innate and superlative gift for transferring energy from the booth to the dance floor—through exciting house, techno, and jungle, and moments that both harken to Sound Factory–era glory days and bring you to sweaty BPMs of the future. Their sets are palpably personal: The dance floor has always been a powerful platform for expression for Kilo, once as a freeing and connecting space for a quiet house dancer and now as one for moving others like them. When Kilo gets going, you’ll lose sense of the kick drum versus the beat of your own body against the floor. That’s a gift from them to you, and your percussion is a gift back to them. Kilo brings their energetic sass to a monthly Lot Radio residency and to parties with impressive lineups, playing alongside Todd Terry home in New York, at the legendary Movement weekend Club Toilet in Detroit, and for Boiler Room. Their mixes, for series such as Coloring Lessons, Honcho, and Juanita’s, and for spots on Rinse and Refuge, also capture the club at its most euphoric. You’ll step a little harder with Kilopatrah Jones. Words by Sacha Madadian

“Drawing from Detroit’s foundational influence and the darker edges of contemporary European club music, she crafts immersive, tension-driven sets built on heavy percussion, layered textures, and driving low-end energy.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Drawing from Detroit’s foundational influence and the darker edges of contemporary European club music, she crafts immersive, tension-driven sets built on heavy percussion, layered textures, and driving low-end energy. Her approach to DJing centers on narrative and atmosphere, creating long-form journeys where tracks dissolve into one another through mounting pressure and cathartic release. Originally developing her craft in Boston through close collaboration with the INFRA collective, KXAH became deeply involved in the underground DIY circuit before relocating to New York City. During that time, she co-founded the Aversion event platform and label, helping build collaborative events and releases alongside collectives and artists from across the US and Europe, including Detroit Techno Militia, BCCO, Maison Fauna, and Uncoiled. Though no longer involved with the platform, the experience helped shape her approach to underground culture, collaboration, and independent artist infrastructure. Beyond the club, KXAH’s work extends deeply into experimental listening culture and interdisciplinary curation. Previously curating for Silence Please, a high-fidelity speaker building company and immersive listening showroom in New York, where she programmed and hosted experimental ambient sessions centred around intentional listening and sound system culture. Working within the showroom’s acoustically focused environment, she curated performances and listening experiences featuring artists such as Neel, Function, Amelia Holt, Amma Atteria and other experimental live performers, vinyl selectors, and sound artists. The series explored the intersection of ambient music, spatial sound, psychoacoustics, and deep listening, reflecting KXAH’s ongoing interest in the emotional and physical impact of sound beyond the dancefloor. Her independently curated “Fight Club” events further expanded this community-driven approach. Hosted inside a fighting gym under the motto “Fighters Not Lovers,” the series created a platform highlighting female and multidisciplinary creatives, fostering collaboration between DJs, visual artists, designers, performers, and emerging talent within underground communities. As a performer, KXAH has appeared at influential venues and underground institutions across New York, Detroit, Minneapolis, and the East Coast, including Basement, Paragon, Marble Bar, Bossa Nova Civic Club, Good Room, Refuge, and Leland City Club. She has also performed at festivals including The Great Beyond and Techtoit. In March 2026, KXAH released “The State Of The Mind” through Amsterdam-based label and collective Donker as part of the compilation DNKRVA004, a release featuring female artists from across the international underground electronic scene, with proceeds supporting breast cancer awareness and research initiatives in the Netherlands. “Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Soo Intoit began DJ'ing in 2020, when booked for a Zoom party. Believing it was a drag booking, she was informed a week before that the party actually wanted her to play music for an hour. After spending lots of time going out and working as a host, and frequently mentioning the desire to be a DJ, she decided this was the time to commit. She had her beginnings (other than the aforementioned Zoom party) in intimate basement gatherings, and later on rooftops. With her job being closed at the time, she was at an advantage, and practiced very frequently. By late 2021, she was presented with her first opportunity to produce a party--which is now CRITICAL HIT. What started as a bi-weekly Wednesday party with humble attendance, evolved into an event that maintains a strong following and crowd, and now takes place once a month on the weekends. This party features a PS2 at almost every event, and sometimes operates games at other parties, showing her interests in building communities around mutual hobbies, as well as providing a unique experience in what she does. The gaming influence is reflected in her DJ sets, too. She produces Juicy Fruit, a recurring bar night with a focus on danceable music the crowd can sometimes sing along too, and Omega. Omega is her sci-fi themed dance party, which she co-produces.
