“Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and lauded techno label Droid Recordings. A classically trained musician in his youth, Moe came to circulate around the Noise, Punk and Industrial scene, playing guitar and singing in various bands until he discovered the early ‘90s L.A. rave scene. That was when he got in touch with some of the heroic synthesizers of techno’s early years. His enthusiasm for those synthetic sounds lead to a career as a Product Specialist at Native Instruments and to independent musician and engineer work across Los Angeles. By then, Moe was chuffed to pursue his own productions. When he handed out his first self-produced, self-pressed vinyls at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2001, he heard them being played from the festival stages the very next day. Since then, he has released original productions or remixed tracks on DROID, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Torque, Silent Steps, Blank Code, Ibadan, Detroit Underground, and much more. Drumcell explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style. Influenced by a myriad of music as well as science fiction and machines, he has developed an addiction to analog synthesis which has led to ceaseless experiments in his studio in search of new, mind-expanding sounds. As one of the most esoteric techno artists in North America, his sound disregards genre limitations and is everything but conventional techno. This style has caught the attention of many of the world’s top techno jocks, with strong track support from the likes of Luke Slater, Speed J, and Chris Leibing. This style has also reached numerous prestigious international clubs and festivals. From Berlin ́s techno mecca Berghain to the main stage of The Movement in Detroit to North American nightclubs like Output and Stereo to festivals across Europe, Latin America, Japan and Australia - Drumcell’s sound can be heard around the world. In 2015, Drumcell is ready for a whole new chapter of what he is best at and what matters most to him in life – the manifestation of truthful emotions in futuristic sonic concepts.
Their RA profile lists Ibadan Records, Railyard Recordings, Droid Recordings, Apotek and 6 more.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouses, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the moniker Audio Injection, which landed on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 and continues today as resident at the infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. In early 2011, he started the project 'Truncate' to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases have been gain critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, East Everything, Jooris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink! for Pets Recordings, Slam for Soma, and Trus’me for Prime Numbers. He has also released original tracks on 50 Weapons and on Ultramajic as a collaboration with Jimmy Edgar. A rigorous international tour schedule has followed, including included stops at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam and Output in New York.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
Their RA profile lists Hidden Recordings, Droid Recordings, Apotek, Kanzleramt and 6 more.

    the whole biography
Chinedum Nwosu’s relentless passion for the finer elements of electronic dance music has seen her win over hearts and minds in every aspect she has turned her attention to - from her transformative DJ performances, authoritative productions and exquisitely curated labels - Intacto and now the newly formed Music That Moves (MTM Records). Like only a handful others in the scene, her name signifies a strength of purpose and commitment to quality that is rare in the world of dance music. Based in Amsterdam and with Nigerian roots, Shinedoe has graced some of the world’s most significant DJ booths - from her countless performances in Berlin's Berghain to underground festivals and clubs all over the world. Beginning her journey as a DJ at 19 years old, Shinedoe has drawn inspiration from originators like Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson and Orlando Voorn. With her deep connection to the sounds of Detroit, Chicago and the often unsung Amsterdam scene, her DJ sets blend these influences with a warmth and style that few can hope to emulate - her mixes take dancers on a sensual, explorative trip to the beyond. Having honed her considerable skills at her own Inmotion parties in Amsterdam from 2001 (now renamed ‘Intacto Nights’), Shinedoe shared the stage with techno and house royalty, whilst making a huge impact on Amsterdam’s burgeoning scene with her forward-thinking booking policy. Shinedoe radiates a positivity that at times can seem in short supply elsewhere in electronic dance music. Dive in to her extensive back catalogue of productions and it’s clear she has established a sound that is recognisably her own - both timeless and unique. Her releases stretch back over a decade to when her debut track Dillema dropped on Dutch label 100% Pure in 2004. It was clear nothing was going to hold her back - the track was picked up by everyone from the techno elite to the bedroom DJs and ravers who couldn't get enough of its tough, funky and infectious groove. A series of killer 12s would follow, both on her own Intacto imprint and labels such as Ibadan Records, Cocoon, Bpitch Control - to name but a few. Key moments included the Fuse Presents Shinedoe mix that dropped in 2007 on Music Man, which added extra heat to her already hot reputation. Having also contributed stellar mixes for XLR8, Groove magazine, Electronic Beats, and Data Transmission, Shinedoe also delivered exceptional remixes for the likes of The Knife, Orlando Voorn, Pantha Du Prince, Terre Thaemlitz, and Booka Shade. Since its founding in 2004, Intacto has gone from strength to strength under the guidance of Shinedoe and co-head 2000 and One (Dylan Hermelijn). Now with around 100 releases to its name, the label represents a distinct approach to electronic music - rooted in respect, quality and professionalism, yet wildly courageous and adventurous in its releases. Intacto was heavily populated by Shinedoe’s productions - including three albums (Sound Travelling, No Boundaries and Illogical Directions) that won plaudits across the board. Yet in in 2018, Shinedoe founded Music That Moves, a new label exclusively focussing on her own musical vision. MTM is the home for precision techno with soul - literally music that will move you in every sense, and another reminder as to why Chinedum Nwosu is one of the most engaging and inspiring artists in electronic music. Music That Moves (MTM) Founded in 2018, Music That Moves is the latest venture by Amsterdam-based techno maven Shinedoe. Having been jointly responsible for the long running and hugely influential Intacto label with partner in crime 2000 and One, Chinedum Nwosu’s new label is a vehicle for her own special musical vision. Focussing entirely on Shinedoe productions, Music That Moves is the home for precision techno with soul - literally music that will move you in every sense.

  • Max Gardner

    San Francisco/Oakland · 3 bookings since Jul 2024

    “Techno is a layered phenomenon.”

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Techno is a layered phenomenon. On the surface level is the talk, fleeting and temporary. Beneath it lies an intricate web woven by all manner of creatives and intellectuals. At the center of it all is the sound itself, and it is in this realm of sonic abstraction that you find Max Gardner. The San Francisco DJ and producer did not initially pursue electronic music with ambitions to promote himself as a brand. Doors opened nonetheless, and they never stopped. He is now one of the artists most closely associated with Bay Area techno, releasing on labels like Sonic Groove, Blank Code, and Northern Parallels. A pivotal turning point saw Max launch a label called Peer. He set forth to create a techno platform free of superstar ego, prioritizing musical merit over celebrity. Since its launch, Peer has become a respected outlet for forward-thinking underground techno from both established artists and emerging voices. Max's often psychedelic, sometimes suspenseful, always hypnotic range of the techno spectrum has brought him to audiences across the US and Europe, with performances in New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon, Medellín, and more. At home, he has held residencies at essential San Francisco venues including F8, 1015 Folsom, Monarch, and the legendary 222 Hyde. As founder of the influential Direct to Earth collective and a resident throughout its 15+ year history, Max helped establish the foundation for San Francisco's modern techno community long before the genre reached its current prominence in the Bay Area. What began as a niche scene has since grown into a thriving network of artists, promoters, venues, and audiences. Max Gardner lives for the ephemeral moments in which time stands still, where words fail, as pure and honest audio shakes every reveler to their core. To see him behind the decks is to understand that he belongs here. He knows this world intimately. His place in it is permanent.

    their own biography

    the whole biography
Texas-born and Brooklyn-based, Henry Chow has spent nearly three decades embedded in the underground, moving dance floors with raw, mood-driven techno and house. A lifelong crate digger, his sound leans heavy on tension, groove, and restraint—built for dark rooms and long nights. As a DJ, Chow’s reputation has carried him to international stages and key venues across the U.S., including regular appearances at The Great Beyond (US). In Houston, Chow co-founded Crossroads, then one of Texas’ longest-running dance parties. The series became a proving ground for uncompromising international and regional artists alongside deeply rooted local talent, helping shape a sustainable, late-night culture. After arriving in Brooklyn in 2017, Chow re-established Crossroads with a series of events at the now defunct TBA Brooklyn. Years later Chow teamed up with Dianna Loevner, Samuel FIsh, and Dyllon Young to help create the underground outfit Mizz Softee. In the studio, Chow first cut his teeth in the early 2000s, releasing an EP on Marco Carola's seminal techno imprint, Zenit. Followed by original and remixes on labels such as Genetic Recordings, Thoughtless Music, Harmonious Discord and Abiotic. Dug from the past and locked into the present, Henry Chow delivers music that’s physical and meant to be felt.
