“Gigolo means Playboy, but the word originally derives from the ancient French "Gigole" which used to mean Dancing Woman.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Gigolo means Playboy, but the word originally derives from the ancient French "Gigole" which used to mean Dancing Woman. This makes DJ Gigola both, a dancing woman and a playboy. Where others see tension and contradiction, DJ Gigola sees a chance for creation. In her playful way of breaking down boundaries, she hits the Zeitgeist of a generation that continuously transforms and recontextualises seemingly fixed concepts and stereotypes. As a result, both her sets and productions are quint-essentially genre-fluid. Her critically acclaimed cutting edge releases take a hybrid approach, successfully blending boundaries between Dance and Pop music. On a night out, you might hear DJ Gigola mix Madonna out of an old Bonzai record and back into Surgeon all within 5 minutes. Her sets are enigmatic and reflect a natural sense of curiosity - eager to explore, she does not shy away from experimenting. As playful as DJ Gigola’s selection may seem, however, she rigorously weaves together seemingly disperse tracks with one common thread: rhythm. She experiences music primarily through the rhythmic structure emergent from patterns of percussion rather than layers of melodic harmonies. This deep understanding for rhythm and groove, combined with her multi-facetted knowledge of music and curious audacity to try new things makes DJ Gigola one of the most exciting DJs to experience on a dance floor.Their RA profile lists Public Possession, Live From Earth and Method 808.Recently at BASEMENT, Knockdown Center, Paragon · often with Margo XS, MCR-T, SALOME, none of them here that night

“Charlie Le Mindu is, at his core, a multidisciplinary artist.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Charlie Le Mindu is, at his core, a multidisciplinary artist. Known for his boundary-pushing vision, he has collaborated with some of the most influential names in fashion and art, but his heart has always beat in rhythm with the music scene. He began his career with the French electro-punk band Kap Bambino, followed by collaborations with the iconic Peaches, and has since continued to lend his iconoclast creative direction to artists like Doja Cat, TR/ST, Troye Sivan, Angèle, Lady Gaga, Cobrah, Yseult, and La Femme, blending roles as designer, artistic director, and visionary creative partner. The taste of the stage is contagious for a natural performer, and Charlie’s long-standing work behind the scenes ignited a desire to jump from the shadows of the backstage into the public light. Years of amplifying other artists’ visions set the groundwork for his own sonic identity. To bring it to life, he joined forces with Raphaël, Romain, and Simon - three well established musicians of the French rock scene - to launch his first music project: MUCHAS PROBLEMAS. Far from being just another music act, MUCHAS PROBLEMAS is a raw, unfiltered expression of Charlie’s life: seeking inspiration in his roots in show business, queer nightlife, and the emotional chaos that comes with both. His lyrics dive deep into personal history, touching on everything from vulnerability to provocation, always wrapped in unapologetic storytelling. MUCHAS PROBLEMAS is as much an artistic performance as it is a musical experience, infused with the spirit of nightlife scenes from Berlin to Mexico, Paris to New York City, London to LA. The project fuses Charlie’s love of post-punk, industrial, and darkwave, spiked with techno grit and an unmistakable edge. The result? A soundscape that swings between catharsis, euphoria, and tragedy, but never without meaning. On stage, the show is a visceral explosion, a fascinating blend of vibrations. Disruptive, expressionist, and irresistibly dissident, MUCHAS PROBLEMAS showcases Charlie Le Mindu’s unmistakable talent for bold, eclectic, and unforgettable multisensorial storytelling.“Once upon a time in a galaxy not far away, there lived two kings.”

the whole biography
Once upon a time in a galaxy not far away, there lived two kings. Each was the ruler of his own deliciously glorious planet. The first king, Manchildblack, was well known throughout the cosmos for his ethereal vocals, celestial sonics and earthy musical messages. The other king, Monstah Black, was a star in the solar system for his gravity defying performances, gender bending fashions and spacey disposition. One magical night, an inexplicable ultramagnetic pull forced the two planets to collide. A technicolored explosion occurred, turning night into day, with a feast of aural and visual delights. It was then that the universe was changed forever. Manchildblack and Monstah Black united and became The Illustrious Blacks. With inspiration from artists like Prince, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Boy George and George Clinton, The Illustrious Blacks have arrived with a mission to fuse futuristic funk, hypnotic house and cosmic pop into pulsating positivity for the planet. The real life married couple are not only co-pilots on their artistic voyage, but are united in their fantastical journey through life. In 2017, The Illustrious Blacks released their highly anticipated debut EP, NeoAfroFuturisticPsychedelicSurrealisticHippy, on Concierge Records. The EP features the high energy single "Blast Off," the seductive "Red Light," the thought provoking "Delusions of Grandeur" and the anthemic "Black Like Jesus." In the same year, the dynamic duo also found time to work with producer Nickodemus on a remake of the 90s dance floor classic "Funk That!," which spawned a popular music video. The acclaimed couple found even more praise for their epic live shows and DJ sets, which fuse music, dance, theater & fashion as the ingredients to expand minds, shake bootys and save the world one beat at a time. Their infectious DJ set on Okayplayer’s Facebook live went viral and has put them on the global radar of emerging musical artists. The Illustrious Blacks have been featured at packed venues such as Central Park Summerstage (NYC), Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater (NYC), Output (NYC), Le Poisson Rouge (NYC), Performance Space New York (NYC), Brooklyn Bowl (NYC), C’mon Everybody (NYC), Afterglow Festival (Mass) and even found themselves touring to Bali, Indonesia. The Illustrious Blacks have been receiving praise from major media outlets including The New Yorker Magazine. Their celebratory music video “Black Like Jesus” was premiered in Billboard. Also, their single “Revolutionary Love” debuted in Paper Magazine, while its music video was featured on Out.com. They were also featured in a lifestyle article for the New York Times. 2019 is shaping up to be a busy year for The Illustrious Blacks. With a tour of Asia, Australia and the UK planned, they have been commissioned to create a brand new live show as part of The Shed's inaugural Open Call in NY. Simultaneously, they are recording their debut full length album to be released later in the year. Individually, Monstah Black and Manchildblack illuminate the galaxy with equal magnitude. As The Illustrious Blacks, they have combined their powers to save the world one beat at a time, and encourage all to LIVE THE HYPE LIFE!Recently at C'mon Everybody, The Chocolate Factory, Love's Club · often with Niegel Smith, Amazonian Rockstar, Blaine Petrovia, none of them here that night

Brooklyn selector Coyado builds heat from the ground up—heavy dub pressure, Latin percussion, and club constructions designed for bodies in motion. His sets move with intention, layering the low-end rumble of soundsystem culture against the polyrhythmic snap of dembow and cumbia, finding pockets where Caribbean bassweight and New York grit lock into the same groove. Coming up through the city’s underground circuit—each set is another chance to test how far the fusion can stretch without losing its center of gravity.Recently at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Paragon, Mood Ring · often with Josh Steers, ALEXIS DE LA ROSA, Dj Warning, none of them here that night

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Dane’s journey in music began in the church and as a professional contemporary dancer, embedding a natural rhythm in his life. As an elusive multi-hyphenate artist, his DJ career kicked off at Lizdas in Kaunas, Lithuania, where he swiftly became one of Lithuania’s most beloved and charismatic DJs. His talents extended to hosting as an artist liaison at various clubs and festivals across Lithuania and securing a long-standing radio residency at Radio Vilnius. From Berlin’s Renate and Refuge Worldwide to secret parties in Los Angeles, he’s now making waves in New York City’s nightlife as one to watch. Deveraux’s sets are a must-experience where you can expect a seamless blend of Chicago, Detroit and New York House & Techno, to Jersey and Baltimore Club, and the dynamic beats of the Ballroom scene. “2025 Artist Bio Markus is a DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, New York.”
their own biography
the whole biography
2025 Artist Bio Markus is a DJ and producer based in Brooklyn, New York. Markus is known for his versatility, playing a variety of genres including EBM, House, Italo, 80s Darkwave, Breaks, and more. However, he is most renowned for his unique blend of old school electro and new school brolectro, with a distinctive touch of lesbian techno. Born to Palestinian immigrant parents in Las Vegas, he grew up in the suburbs during the 90s, where he developed a deep appreciation for 90s R&B music. In middle school, he discovered trance via Napster and limewire, igniting his passion for electronic music. Markus's move to San Francisco marked a significant turning point in his musical journey. Immersing himself in the city's vibrant underground dance scene, he learned from the renowned Honey Soundsystem, a queer collective, and the iconic Club Lonely. He also became obsessed with the local garage rock scene and perhaps his most significant musical inspiration, Beach House. In 2010, Markus co-founded the indie chillwave band Seatraffic with his friend Brandon Harrison. As the band's synth player and vocalist, Markus contributed to their unique sound, leading to several successful releases over five years. During this period, Markus found his true self on the dance floor, forming his first queer friendships and feeling a profound sense of belonging. This community became his family and played a crucial role in shaping his identity. Inspired by artists like early Grimes and Purity Ring, Markus began producing his own crossover tracks. However, his career as an architectural professional meant that music took a secondary role for a time. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Markus received his first pair of turntables from his then-boyfriend, now best-friend, Dylan. This gift ignited his passion for DJing, and during lockdown, he honed his skills as a bedroom DJ, playing at the lockdown afters with friends. Markus's most influential mentor, Robert Yang (Bezier), introduced him to Ouissam, of Savage Club Hanoi and the founder of Equation Festival in Vietnam. Ouissam challenged Markus to perform at the Rave Cave during Equation Festival 2023. Markus prepared a new live set and made his comeback after a five-year hiatus, performing original productions like "Want It Back" and "With Your Girlfriends," two tracks deeply rooted in the original sounds of Detroit Electro of the 90s, with a San Francisco and Dutch sprinkling of EBM on top. On the same trip, Markus celebrated his birthday at Savage Hanoi, where he was asked to replace Sedaf Adassi, who had to cancel due to COVID-19. This unexpected opportunity led to Markus's first DJ gig at one of Asia's most prestigious clubs. Back in Brooklyn, Markus continued to build his reputation, performing at venues like Bossa Nova Civic Club and participating in fundraisers for Palestine. Later he eventually secured regular gigs at Basement, where he plays in both the Main Room and the multi-genre-focused Studio. In 2024, Markus embarked on his first DJ tour in Asia, performing at renowned clubs such as .Tag, Pawnshop, Heim, and returning to Savage in Hanoi. This year, he will debut at Nowadays for their 24-hour party, nonstop, alongside Lena Wilkens and Vladimir Ivkovic. Markus is also set to perform at this year's Wire Festival at the Knockdown Center in May and make his European debut at Herrensauna's CSD Party in July.Recently at House of Yes, BASEMENT, Paragon · often with Makadsi, FASHION, Kilopatrah Jones, none of them here that night
