k.tea, is a DJ, multi-disciplinary artist, event producer, entrepreneur, and space maker for femme, queer, and BIPOC communities. She seeks to create sonic journeys encouraging space for freedom, dance, and discovery. k.tea’s mission is to bridge generations of house music lovers and educate all on the expansiveness of house music’s sound. k.tea was born and raised in St. Louis by a musical family, surrounded by the constant sounds of jazz, funk, soul, theater, and percussion-heavy music. She spent nine years of her life in Chicago and found a seamless correlation between her upbringing and the soulful sounds of house music, creating a natural alignment of sound. k.tea now resides in NYC and has been heavily influenced by the dance and musical culture of New York, Jersey, and more. Through her musical offerings, you can clearly hear the passion, deep love, and respect for how house music has evolved around the world and her passion to bring all together for the love of house. With great influence from originators like DJ Celeste Alexander, Ron Trent, DJ Spinna, Kerri Chandler, Frankie Knuckles, Mark Francis, Timmy Regisford, Merlin Bobb, Mike Dunn, Gene Hunt, Natasha Diggs and more, k.tea hopes to continue the legacy alongside her peers of house music’s authentic, Black, soulful roots.Recently at Xanadu, Le Bain, Jupiter Disco · often with Donis, Mike Nasty, Jeremy Giros, none of them here that night
