With music arranged, mixed and mastered painstakingly by hand in a world where AI does everything, Phree Direxion’s sound lives between memory and motion. Based in New York City, producer and selector Christopher Irons creates emotional, melodic house inspired by labels like All Day I Dream and Anjunadeep and shaped by nights in Mykonos, Ibiza, Paris, Montreal, and New York City. Irons' journey into electronic music began in the ’90s with the soundtrack to the film Hackers, a gateway to electronic music legends like Orbital, Leftfield, Underworld, and Carl Cox. The path to production and mixing became clearer in 2024, inspired by live performances by artists like Lee Burridge, Sébastien Léger, and Tim Green. 100% self-taught and proudly hands-on, Irons began pursuing DJing and production seriously in 2025. Once a regular presence at the Lower East Side’s former Gugu Room alongside collaborator and New York City underground artist Tim Dauz, he continues to refine his sound the same way he builds it—one decision at a time, with the dance floor, beach club or rooftop lounge as the final test.Last at Gugu Room in Jan

I’ve been DJing for three years, but over the past year I’ve really focused on taking my sets to the next level. I draw inspiration from a wide range of music and appreciate the interplay of different instruments and textures. I never stick to just one sub-genre and approach each set as an opportunity to explore, surprise, and create something dynamic. I’ve always loved music, making playlists, and curating vibes, and that curiosity shapes every mix I play. For me, DJing is about taking the crowd on a journey, blending unexpected sounds, building energy, and creating moments that move people and make them feel seen. I am constantly working to improve, experimenting with new tracks and techniques, and striving to leave every dance floor buzzing with energy and good vibesRecently at Rebecca's, Jupiter Disco, Mood Ring · often with Wolfy, The King Diva, Jake From State Pharm, none of them here that night

“Coming from humble beginnings, Tim was unable to afford CD players.”
their own biography
the whole biography
Coming from humble beginnings, Tim was unable to afford CD players. He thus spent much of his growing up years collecting used cassettes, and in the early 2000s, he saved what little money he had to purchase his first pair of [pre-owned] CDJs, a basic two channel mixer, and taught himself how to mix. An avid fan of genres such as soul, funk, disco and deep house, Tim would listen to various artists and discover new music at his local record store. He considers Giorgio Moroder, Larry Heard, Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer as his major musical influences. Tim incorporates several indigenous instruments to his productions, reflecting his tropical roots. He also adds atmospheric sounds to his compositions, resulting in a warm, laid-back and refreshing feel to electronic music. His work provides the listener a unique and uplifting experience, reminiscent of watching the sun rise on a pristine beach.Their RA profile lists 917 Records.Recently at Rebecca's, Gugu Room, Jupiter Disco · often with In The Red, TORSK, MISS VEE, none of them here that night
