LIONDUB (Brooklyn, NYC) (Liondub International / Konkrete Jungle / Breakbeat Science / Earwax / The Agriculture / Lustre Kings / Halcyon) DJ Liondub comes correct. An authentic product of Brooklyn, his musical mindset was formed at the crossroads of major international bass vibrations originating from Jamaica, NYC and the UK. Inspired by the global rhythm culture emanating from the streets beneath his feet, Liondub has spent a lifetime pounding that very pavement in pursuit of his passion for bottom-heavy beats. Armed with raw talent, right intentions, a humble demeanor and the tireless determination of a true New Yorker, he began DJing back in '91. As a 17 year old sound system selector hustling in the Lower East Side of the Dinkins-era, Liondub embarked on a journey that has since taken him to the four corners of the dub diaspora; from Jamaican Roots Reggae to the Jungle depths of the UK, from high up on Hip-Hop to down-low on Dubstep. Along the way he has studied under great masters, paid untold dues and kept it Bed-Sty real in the name of music; all-the-while sharpening skills, developing expertise and establishing critical relationships across geographic and sonic divides. From NYC he criss-crossed North America and from London he conquered Europe, all the while cultivating roots in his home-away-from-home, Jamaica. Always armed with a current arsenal of jungle/dubstep & reggae dubplate specials, Liondub's soulful, explosive, unique, and precise sets have gone down a storm on stages shared by a lengthy list of legends and luminaries including Sly & Robbie, The Fugees, Sister Nancy, Johnny Osbourne, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, The Beatnuts, Smith & Mighty, DJ Kush, Afrika Baambaata, Jazzy Jay, DJ Hype, Andy C, Loefah, Goldie, Pinch, Kryptic Minds and Damian Marley to name but a few. Emerging from the shadows of giants, Liondub's mixes have moved him into the spotlight with recent podcast exclusives airing on urb.com, the dubspot blog, and kmag.co.uk, home of the highly influential Knowledge Magazine. Between stints as a wax warrior one can find Liondub in the studio honing the flipside of his craft. His steady stream of productions converged with the with Toronto-based producer Marcus Visionary resulting in the launch of Liondub International. The label has been sending massive waves through the sub-frequency obsessed bandwidth, peaking (so far) with "The General" featuring Jahdan Blakkamoore, a riddim co-produced with Matt Shadetek of the Dutty Arts crew that has been tipped as one of the top Ragga-influenced dubstep tracks of 2009. With ongoing support from baller jocks like Annie, Nightingale, Rusko, Ramadanman, Remarc, Benny Page, Chrissy Chris and MJ Cole, 2010 looks to be a year of exceptional promise for the upstart international imprint. So whether behind the decks as a DJ, behind the boards as a producer / engineer or behind the scenes as a label executive, event producer and record shop buyer, it is Liondub's uncommon ability to flow between these kindred yet surprisingly disparate musical spheres that distinguishes his creative vision and defines his professional ethos. What emerges from Liondub's wide angle view of Dub history is an improbable yet fresh way forward that balances the warm soul and raw spontaneity of a Kingston Dancehall sound system with the exacting precision of a London Drum and Bass technician. That's no easy mission, but one Liondub delivers on daily. Liondub brings a current arsenal of jungle/dubstep & reggae dubplate specials, His performances are soulful, diverse and explosive.Their RA profile lists Worship Recordings, Earwax, The Agriculture, On Point Music and 2 more.Recently at Le Bain, The Meadows · often with DJ Q, Last Action Heroes, Milhouse, none of them here that night

Since releasing Futurebound’s ‘Blind Cobblers Thumb’ & ‘Pied Piper’ in 2003 which achieved instant anthem status, Viper Recordings and has since become one of the scene’s most high profile labels and one which boasts some the most exciting and groundbreaking artists on the Globe. . After releasing a series of killer tracks by the likes of J-Majik & Wickaman, Brookes Brothers, Baron, State of Mind, Moving Fusion and Futurebound himself, 2007 saw Viper release its first album, as Futurebound & Matrix released their Monstrous ‘Universal Truth’ album, which was voted dance album of the year in numerous territories around the world and featured many anthems from the duo, such as ‘American Beauty’, ‘Skyscraper’ and ‘Coast to Coast’ to name but a few. Following on from ‘Universal Truth’ and Futurebound & Matrix where drafted into remix none other than Justin Timberlake’s ‘Love Stoned’ for Sony/BMG as well as turning in a blinding remix for Nu-Tone’s ‘System’ track. Moving into 2008 and Futurebound had barely let the new years dust settle before unleashing the blistering Headroom EP, as well as linking up with the Brookes Brothers to produce the massive ‘Dawn Treader’ which was released on Breakbeat Kaos. As well as being hard at it in the studio again and DJ’ing worldwide spreading the Viper sound, him & Matrix dropped their first 12” post Universal truth. ‘Womb’ and the Nu:Tone & Logistics remix of ‘Family’ dropped in March and became a firm favourite throughout the D&B world. And to cap the year off in fine style Futurebound & Matrix offering released the dancefloor killer ‘Shanghai Surprise’ backed by the lush rolling vibe of ‘Reflection’, which featured the vocal talents of Cat Knight. Futurebound and his Viper kru wasted no time in taking things up a notch in 2009 with the highly acclaimed “Acts Of Mad Men” LP, which was named Zane Lowe's 'Album of the Week' on Radio1. If that wasn't enough, Futurebound and his partner in crime Matrix were on serious remix duties for the likes of Moby, Snap!, Sasha, Lazee, and Ian Carey. 2011 is shaping up to be another massive year for Futurebound and Viper Recordings with a massive lineup scheduled for the rest of the year, along with the 2nd LP from Matrix & Futurebound currently in the works. “Eric Prydz is on a roll at the moment, without doubt leading the way.”

the whole biography
Eric Prydz is on a roll at the moment, without doubt leading the way. His labels Mouseville, Pryda, & Pryda Friends are positively brimming with underground club hits. Eric is now in charge of three highly respected labels whose releases are in feverish demand, consistently selling huge quantities of vinyl which is truly incredible in the markets current climate. The labels are arguably proving to be the most successful and forward thinking imprints currently existing. Each label was strictly developed to give Eric a platform to release his own productions without outside interference, simply his music on his terms. It was important for Eric to step back after his previous successes and release music without schedules and pressure. Ultimately he wanted to control his own image & destiny, something extremely important to him and his career. The ethos behind the labels was truly underground, scarcely any promotion, no press intrusion and true label/design identity… a formula which has proven massively successful! Releases on his more hard-edged Mouseville Records under the pseudonym Cirez D have been tough and powerful a throw back to the underground techno roots his native Sweden has become so famous for. The huge demand for this label has been nothing short of amazing with his massive ‘Knockout EP’ selling over 18,000 copies on vinyl alone. The more melodic based Pryda imprint showcases his early house influences with harmonies, melodies and hooks fused with his trademark powerful basslines. Pryda & Mouseville are solely for Eric’s own productions, vehicles to develop his sound a sound that has become so influential, constantly imitated and copied but yet to be bettered. Therefore Pryda Friends was created to release friend’s productions as currently there was no other outlet for the growing list of tracks submitted to Eric by his close colleagues. Collaborations such as the hugely successful Paolo Mojo “1983” & Axer “123”/ “321” written with fellow Swede Axwell proved the worth of this new imprint. Then just recently he became the first ever artist to be given the green light to sample Pink Floyd as his massive ‘Proper Education’ fused “Another Brick In The Wall’s” school choir chorus into a UK & European chart smash for Ministry of Sound. Eric has proven to be an artist that can actually fuse commercial success with underground success, something previously impossible to achieve and sustain. It was always the enjoyment of working with music that kept Eric coming back for more. From making music on the piano aged 8 to convincing his parents to buy him a keyboard so he could make his own Depeche Mode tracks it was always “just a bit of fun.” However, with his debut artist album set to hit the world this summer, Eric’s key loves of house, techno and electro will see him bring all of his styles under one roof for the first time as his underground club roots come to the fore. A bonefide global chart smash in the making, it’s surprising just how far a bit of ‘fun’ can go. Going back to 1994 Eric became the drummer in a synth band called ‘Enemy Alliance’, touring Sweden and dreaming of becoming the next Kraftwerk. He jacked his job in, hooked up with two friends who had a small studio set up making more pop based material and lived the next two years virtually penniless - working on his own hard-hitting, techno-funk tracks and DJing locally when gigs came up. Eric’s first release came about almost by accident. Having made a bunch of new material solely on a Roland MC-505 Groovebox he gave a cassette to a friend who ran a clothing store in Stockholm. Eventually finding its way to the London offices of EMI’s New Religion, in 2000 they released ‘By Your Side’/Mr. Jingles’ and Eric was at last on the hallowed grooves of black vinyl. After the success of that initial release, EMI moved Eric to their flagship dance label Credence. A remix of the boogie bassline driven ‘Mr Jingles’ together with two new tracks followed and ‘EP1’ formed the first of three hugely successful releases. By the time ‘EP3’ came around, Eric had developed into one of the hottest names in house music and the original version of ‘Slammin’ from EP3 became the biggest instrumental tune on Ibiza in the summer of 2003. As an in demand producer the remix offers were flying in. Defining moments like his work on fellow Swede Steve Angello’s ‘Voices’ & Woz Not Woz firmly established Eric’s trademark electronic sound and he went on to remix the likes of The Shapeshifter’s, Alter Ego, Pet Shop Boys and Switch to name but a few. Then things went a bit crazy. A record that he made to play out for friends in Stockholm that sampled a vocal hook from Stevie Winwood’s ‘Valerie’ became a local club anthem off the back of just six dub plates. A year later in 2004 ‘Call On Me’ was out on Ministry of Sound’s Data imprint, topping half the national charts of Europe and remaining at number 1 for six weeks in the UK, generating sales of over 2.5 million units worldwide. As Mouseville Records and Pryda Recordings continue to deliver the dancefloor goods, Eric Prydz is now one of the world’s most in demand underground spinners and producers. With is debut album and new single set to drop, the worlds of techno and house are in safe hands.Their RA profile lists Data Records, Credence, Cr2 Records, Stoney Boy Music and 5 more.Recently at GUM Studios, Brooklyn Storehouse
“The southside of Chicago has long been a hotbed for the up‐and‐coming talent and the newest trends in dance music.”
their own biography
the whole biography
The southside of Chicago has long been a hotbed for the up‐and‐coming talent and the newest trends in dance music. Setting the pace for the current Chicago sound is its newest favorite sons ‐ Ghetto Division ‐ who are making their “own lane in the club music game.” Native‐born Chicagoian Eddie Regalado Jr, AKA DJ Rampage is one of the crew’s most renowned producers. From humble beginnings as a mobile DJ, he’s become a seasoned veteran of Chicago’s club and party scene, taking the decks in the mid‐90’s to craft a unique style inspired by the city’s own house music. Since then he’s collected influences as easily as praise, combining a love for juke, techno, disco as well as the odd bit of funk, film soundtracks and video game sound effects. A Rampage production is likely to be energetic, house‐influenced, and unpredictable, yet above all, quintessentially Chicagoian. In an effort to promote this forward‐thinking style, Rampage along with Charlie Glitch, Maddjazz and Rob Threezy formed the DJ/production crew known as Ghetto Division, and together have exposed their characteristic sound to the dance music scene. And the scene is listening. Besides a highly‐publicized alliance with the New Jersey / Philadelphia based Brick Bandits, Rampage has shared the decks with celebrated and infamous trendsetters by the likes of Diplo, DJ Sega, Toy Selectah, Flosstradamus, and made clubs bang across California and the Midwest, as well as SXSW, Canada, Mexico & Europe.Their RA profile lists Booty Call Records and Nightshifters.Recently at Elsewhere, SILO, Brooklyn Storehouse · often with Dave Shichman, Nito, Blossom, none of them here that night
