Joey Beltram - Drumcode / R&S / BUSH / Warp Short Biography: For over the last 20+ years, Joey Beltram is considered one of the pioneers and a legendary producer of Techno and House. He has recorded on many of the biggest labels of the early 90's such as Nu-Groove, Tresor, Warp, Transmat, and R&S records. Much of his music during that time is widely acknowledged as groundbreaking. Beltram has also been heralded as a major influence by many of todays DJ's and producers including Daft Punk (as mentioned in their song "Teachers"). He has also produced many Techno staples of the 1990's including "Energy Flash", "Mentasm", "Forklift", "Ballpark" and "Game Form". In more recent years Joey Beltram has worked with and remixed artist's and DJ's such as Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Umek, Oliver Huntemann and Steve Lawler. His productions on Harthouse, BUSH, MB Electronic and Drumcode have shown he still has the magic touch in the studio. Rolando grew up in south west Detroit, a Hispanic district, he was heavily influenced by his cultural Latin rhythms and percussion. Inspired from an early age by his musician father, he pursued his own interest in music and became well known and respected within the community. It was later when he heard Jeff Mills in 1985 as "The Wizard" that he discovered the innovative sounds of Techno. Through a mutual friend he was introduced to Mike Banks and joined Underground Resistance in 1994. In 1999 'Jaguar' although not Rolando's first release on UR turned perceptions of Techno on their head, breaking into other genres of dance music and becoming a classic in the boxes of DJs such as Tenaglia, Morillo, Oakenfold, and Gilles Peterson. The track has a long legacy of reworking and lives on fifteen years later inspiring audiences from all genres. As of November 2004, Rolando left both Underground Resistance and his Los Hermanos project behind. 2014 Rolando has launched his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records) and will exclusively release his own music on his label. Pauli Cakes is a New York born and based sound curator known for bringing people together and getting them moving. The DJ, community organizer, spirit raiser, performer, multi-faceted artist and founder of collectives DiSCAKES and xCAKES is an unmistakable figure in New York's underground queer rave scene. They've made a heartfelt impact on the nightlife circuit with their iconic raves, musical influence, organizing work, contributions to harm reduction and efforts to raise thousands of dollars for bail out organizations such as F2L, Black and Pink and The Friendly Commisary Fund and independent initiatives such as the COVID19 RELEIF FUND and various fundraisers for Queer New Yorkers in need. Pauli believes that limitations and binaries can be transcended through music, communion and creative expression.
