the whole biography
A native of Brooklyn and current resident of Queens (New York), Jovonn has been active in the music scene since the age of 10. Supported by his mother, a keyboard player; and father, a guitar/bass player, who were aspiring R&B singers; he was nurtured with a solid musical foundation. Jovonn began his career as a Hip-Hop DJ at the age of 14 and started spinning records at those infamous New York block parties of the 80s where he was introduced to the growing New York House music scene, hanging out in seminal Brooklyn clubs such as Sapphires, Club Saturn and Club Serene. Years later clubs such as The Loft, The Choice, Snobbusters and Zanzibar, solidified his full commitment to House music. Exploding onto the house scene in 1991 with his second release, “Turn and Runaway” on Warner Bros. Records, (which reached number 10 on the Billboard chart and catapulted Jovonn on to the global scene) He then went on to set up his first record label, Goldtone Records, in the early 1990’s via Emotive Records (label compilation dropped on clone last year) and since then has produced more than 500 records in the House, R&B, Hip-Hop and Neo Soul genres, not to mention film scores and soundtracks although his true love has always been House music. A pioneer of the NYC, New Jersey, 90’s house sound, he’s produced many classics with releases such as as “Back In the Dark”, “Garage Shelter”, “I Can’t Make Up My Mind”, “I Wanna Go To A Club” that all contain Jovonn’s distinctive vocal delivery and trade mark production, as the man says himself ‘gritty sounds, hard kicks, jazzy chords and a phat bassline’. Other releases in Jovonn’s impressive discography include ‘Something About this Love’ (on WestEnd Records), “The Spirit” album (on Track Mode), and the “Blaque House” album on Code Red not to mention releases on labels such as Dogmatik, Objektivity, Deeply Rooted House and Apollonia showcasing his talents to a new audience of house music lovers. Jovonn launched his new label venture Body N’Deep in 2017 via clone distribution, dedicated to releasing the hottest deep and raw underground house tracks from Jovonn and his crew of producers and vocalists including tracks from legendary artists such as Karizma, Delano Smith and Louie Vega. His album ‘Timeless’ was released on the label receiving great reviews from DJ’s and Press, showcasing Jovonn’s trademark new jersey sound. In-between running the label and DJing worldwide Jovonn has still found time to release on prestigious labels such as Nu Groove/Defected with ‘Random/Get Over It’, ‘The Blaque Katt EP’ and more recent ‘The Fun Houze EP’. All welcomed by a new generation of DJs and producers, demonstrating Jovonn’s ability to keep relevant with his classic NYC house sound and just updating it a little for today. The Body N’Deep label goes from strength to strength releasing productions from established artists and rising talents, with releases and A&R from the man himself, ensuring everything has that timeless Body N’Deep sound. Look out for a new Jovonn album in 2025 as well as further releases on the label..Their RA profile lists Defected Records, Clone Records, Mojuba, DS Records and 2 more.Recently at Nowadays, Green Room NYC, MAD Radio NYC · often with Omer Mil, DLR, ABS, none of them here that night

With a scene as vast as Brooklyn, there are few artists and selectors that have shown as much promise as EREZ.JPG. His selection of underground cuts and eclectic sounds is a clear reflection of his devotion to the local scene and attention to international trends. He is known for hammering anything from minimal to disco, from 90's house to breaks - anything that will elevate the energy and get everyone moving and grooving. Erez's energy on the decks and on the dancefloor is absolutely magnetic--it's no wonder his recently launched party series and community, Say Yes, has already received much support from the local dance music community. Within a year of DJing in Brooklyn, Erez went from DJing fraternity parties to consistent bookings, including landing a residency at TBA Brooklyn and Ciao Ciao Disco and appearances at Elsewhere, The Brooklyn Monarch, Noir, Mood Ring, and more.Recently at Apollo Studio, Green Room, H0L0 · often with Jeny Michelle, Bakke, Amy Jor, none of them here that night

Mac Briggs is a Brooklyn-based DJ and producer who lives in the deeper, darker end of tech house. Percussive, dubby, and groove-heavy, his sound is built for floors that want to move without being pushed. An avid crate digger with a serious record collection, Mac goes deep in the bag. Vinyl is where he lives, and it shows in his selections -- rare cuts, forgotten gems, and tracks that hit harder because nobody in the room has heard them yet.Recently at Dead Letter No. 9, MAD Radio NYC, Green Room NYC · often with SIMMI, Erin Page, Jeny Michelle, none of them here that night

Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Brandon Ricci, aka RICCI, operates at the intersection of minimal and deep tech, where the sound is understated and the impact isn’t. His productions are focused and floor-ready, earning support from some of the scene’s most respected names: “I Don’t Stop” picked up backing from Locklead,“Bassline Bumper” & “E&C” drew support from Natalia Roth, and unreleased “After Hours Club” and “Shake” won Michael Bibi’s approval. RICCI has established himself as a DJ of real quality behind the decks, known for sets that are locked in, high energy, and finely tuned to the room. Equally capable of holding a deep groove as he is landing a banger, he brings the kind of presence that keeps people on the floor and coming back.
