Neves is the head of BASE SEVEN, a label, event, and creative operation focused on techno, futurism, and expressionism, operating within the abstract. Heavily inspired by early Detroit techno, Neves delivers hypnotic, tension-driven DJ sets built on stripped-down mechanical rhythms, honoring the past while pushing the sound forward. He is also the music director and composer for the Willy Chavarria runway shows in both New York and Paris. To sum it up best, Juno sees techno as a textbook through culture and history. The Queens, NY-born Jamaican DJ has always gravitated toward electronic music since they were younger, but it wasn’t until after their time living in Germany and North Carolina that they realized how much deeper this music goes. Through their own research and the guidance of the owners of the former NC record store 641 RPM (shoutout E&T), they discovered the roots and sound of the music we all love. Underground Resistance, DJ Bone , Jay Denham , and many more acts and individuals inspired them and shaped what this music means to them, as well as what it can teach to so many, such as themes of resistance, community, and humanity. Now living back in Queens, they’ve been making their way around the circuit, playing at notable spots like Bossa Nova Civic Club, Signal and H0L0 , where they’ve shared the stage with techno OGS such as Joey Beltram, Adam X, DJ Shufflemaster, Mike Dearborn, and Shawnscape Renegade. While their growth may not be exponential, they’re truly in this for the long game and the love of the sound. Sabinin began his DJ journey after relocating to the United States from the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula of Ukraine, bringing with him a strong commitment to underground electronic music culture. While based in Houston, he quickly became an active force within the city’s underground scene, gaining recognition for his distinctive leftfield sound and carefully curated selections. He also held a five-year residency at The Flat under the mentorship of DJ Sun. During this period, he shared lineups with respected artists including DJ Stingray, Nastia, Efdemin, Aurora Halal, Rødhåd, Sara Landry, Marcos Cabral, 2Lanes, and Cygnus. After establishing himself as a respected presence in Houston, Sabinin relocated to New York City in early 2024 to further expand his artistic reach.
