their own biography
the whole biography
IgP is a New York City based Afro House and Afro Tech selector and producer whose work sits at the intersection of rhythm, identity, and intention. With roots deeply embedded in the city’s underground scene, IgP has cultivated a sound that honors the global lineage of dance music while pushing toward a future that feels emotionally resonant, culturally grounded, and unmistakably personal. Known for curating immersive journeys rather than simply playing tracks, IgP’s sets move fluidly through soulful percussion, hypnotic basslines, textured synth work, and spiritual grooves. His approach to DJing is rooted in storytelling reading the room with care, building tension with patience, and releasing energy with purpose. Whether performing in intimate club settings or community-driven spaces, IgP creates environments where people feel seen, connected, and free. As a producer, IgP channels the same intentionality into his original work. His tracks explore the edges of Afro House and Afro Tech, blending emotional depth with forward-thinking sound design. Rather than chasing trends, his music focuses on mood, atmosphere, and authenticity often described as cinematic, introspective, and powerful on the dancefloor. Each release is treated as a statement of identity, not just a tool for the club. Beyond the music, IgP is building a distinctive creative world around his artistry. Under the name Prestoglobulin, he has developed a visual language inspired by immunology motifs (antibodies, helixes), Basquiat-style abstraction, and symbolic iconography such as the “IgP Crown” and recurring G-character. This cohesive aesthetic appears across his artwork, flyers, and branding, reinforcing the idea that IgP is not just a DJ, but a multidimensional creative project. Community remains central to everything he does. IgP is deeply invested in uplifting marginalized voices, cultivating safe and affirming spaces, and contributing meaningfully to the cultural fabric of NYC nightlife. Many of his event concepts integrate social impact, collaboration, and intentional gathering reflecting a belief that dance music can be both transformative and communal. With a growing catalog of original productions, a refined musical identity, and a clear artistic vision, IgP represents a new generation of selectors and producers: deeply rooted, emotionally intelligent, and unafraid to build something authentic from the ground up.Recently at The Crown, Elsewhere, SILO · often with KRAVE, Bruce Wayne, Phat Phrequencies, none of them here that night
