Pauli Cakes is a New York born and based sound curator known for bringing people together and getting them moving. The DJ, community organizer, spirit raiser, performer, multi-faceted artist and founder of collectives DiSCAKES and xCAKES is an unmistakable figure in New York's underground queer rave scene. They've made a heartfelt impact on the nightlife circuit with their iconic raves, musical influence, organizing work, contributions to harm reduction and efforts to raise thousands of dollars for bail out organizations such as F2L, Black and Pink and The Friendly Commisary Fund and independent initiatives such as the COVID19 RELEIF FUND and various fundraisers for Queer New Yorkers in need. Pauli believes that limitations and binaries can be transcended through music, communion and creative expression. Pauli’s sets have been described as a “break neck wonderland” and a "Spirit Raising Journey Through Sound". SKIN CONTACT takes their name from the pleasure of closeness, sweat, bodies, and the charged intimacy of underground spaces. Their sound carries a raw, industrial edge, moving with precise focus toward hypnotic intensity. Through 3–4 deck mixing, they are interested in creating moments of chaos that dissolve into spaces for reorganization and potential. As founder and curator of PLAY ME TECHNO (PMT), SKIN CONTACT is a defining presence in Brooklyn’s underground, creating spaces that blur the line between rave, performance, and ritual. Through PMT, they’ve cultivated a platform for risk, experimentation, and radical connection: where sound, movement, and community converge. Since arriving in NYC in 2019, she has established herself as a resident at Myrtle-Broadway staples like Bossa Nova Civic Club and Jade, while taking her signature Dollar Party series to major markets like Atlanta and Los Angeles. Whether she’s headlining a packed warehouse or curating intimate archival sets, purp remains dedicated to the raw, unfiltered spirit of the dancefloor. In the eleven years that PURP has been DJing, she has partnered with big brands, and rocked big rooms. Opening for artists from Cupcakke and the Ying Yang Twins, to Todd Edwards and TSHA. PURP has secured partnerships with brands such as Footlocker, Converse, and Burberry. PURP prides herself on being a professional social worker, and curates her own events under the Social Work NYC brand.
