A lifelong music archaeologist—from the early days of Tumblr blogs to sunrise dancefloors—she brings a sense of curiosity, discovery, nostalgia, and emotional connection to every set. Rooted in femme and queer nightlife, DJ girlcrush is committed to building community through music. She is a resident at the uptempo arcade party Tackycardia and a member of the emerging DJ trio Sex Over Thirty. She hosts Swallowed Open Decks, a monthly FLINTA*-focused, whale-themed event that holds space for emerging DJs to connect and grow and Rat Girl Club, a femme forward dance night.Recently at Jade, Wonderville, Honey's · often with CMD+JAZMINE, Cryostatik, masha latte, none of them here that night
“A devotee of the late-night-into-early-morning-into-late-afternoon party, Kristen gravitates toward genre-expansive DJs who take their dancers on long, world-bending journeys through all shades of music (not just electronic).”

A devotee of the late-night-into-early-morning-into-late-afternoon party, Kristen gravitates toward genre-expansive DJs who take their dancers on long, world-bending journeys through all shades of music (not just electronic). Outside of DJing, Kristen is deeply immersed in NYC’s live music scene, a passion that heavily informs her sets. While her selections are steeped in traditional and modern jazz influences, she loves to weave in elements of commercial/hyperpop, future garage, funk, and classic house—building her sets more around “vibes” than around certain genres. If she’s not behind the decks, she will 100% be dancing. This was, in part, the inspiration behind co-founding Dancing in Socks with Szobi—a bi-monthly party series and online community built around getting back building communities through dancefloors.Recently at Honey's, Signal, Mood Ring · often with DJ Sauci Soni, Szobi, jOrell, none of them here that night
