their own biography
the whole biography
Shaped by her path from Bogotá, Colombia, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and now New York City, Bana’s sound creates space for feeling and release through deep, immersive textures and deep-groove rhythms. Each set is carefully curated to invite introspection, connection, and movement, drawing inspiration from labels like Studio Barnhus and Kompakt. Traces of her Colombian and Caribbean heritage shape her rhythmic sensibility, adding warmth and pulse to her sonic language. Ana Maria, artistically known as Bana, is a New York–based DJ, visual artist, and co-founder of Audio Studio, a creative collective launched alongside Marco Araneda. With a background in art direction and design, she approaches music as narrative—merging sound and visual storytelling to craft intimate, emotionally driven experiences on and beyond the dancefloor.Recently at MAD Radio NYC, Apollo Studio, Bogart House · often with Enssembl, Juan Fawcett, Ardio Zemog, none of them here that night
