American DJ and producer Kim Anh has been a staple of the queer dance music underground for two decades. She has gone on to make an indelible impact on the nightlife scenes she's been a part of in Los Angeles and New York, where she currently splits her time between NYC and the Hudson Valley. The founder of groundbreaking queer parties like Booby Trap! and Tendencies, Kim Anh helped underline the queer and POC history of dance music, bringing it back to its roots. Her production and songwriting blends classic house and electronic with a contemporary sensibility, with catchy hooks and edgy, sensual lyrics, described by DJ Mag as "lucid and absorbing, and conveying an assertion and power." She’s been a top 10 Beatport artist with features in Mix Mag (UK & Asia), DJ Mag, Resident Advisor and LA Weekly to name a few. More recently, Kim Anh started her own Can U Not Talk Records label, and has also been featured on labels like Live At Robert Johnson, Afro Acid and Nervous Records. REFRAKT is the alias of Ian Daly, an American producer and DJ based in New York City. Born in Flint, Michigan, Daly grew up in a musical family with the Detroit house scene as a backdrop. A classically-trained pianist, drummer, and guitarist, Daly pulls from this broad musical vocabulary to bring melodic hooks, interlocking rhythms, and complex textures to his tracks. His music bears the influence of his travels and exposure to unique musical styles and instruments, including Brazilian and African music, Persian classical music, Indian ragas, and the Balinese gamelan (which Daly has performed in). Prior to his work in music production, Daly spent more than a decade as a journalist at International publications such as Details, Esquire, Wired, and The New York Times and spend six years working in strategy at Live Nation, the largest live entertainment company in the world. REFRAKT is signed to Phisica and his recent “False Memories” EP charted in the top 20 on Beatport (Indie Dance genre). His next EP, Hidden Temple, will be released 11/23 on Emerald & Doreen. Daly has performed around the world, from New York City (House of Yes) and Los Angeles, to Berlin (Neue Odessa, Georgia Bar, Crackers), and Tulum (Ahau, Panamera, Radio Tulum, Nü, Delek).
